Singer G-Dragon decorated the beginning and end of the 2025 Melon Music Awards (hereinafter 2025 MMA) by winning a total of seven awards, including three grand prizes. The ceremony, hosted by the music platform Melon, was held on the afternoon of the 20th at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro-gu, Seoul.

The 2025 MMA featured a variety of artists including Jay Park, Jennie, Zico, Han Roro, aespa, All Day Project, Alphadriveone, Boy Next Door, EXO, G-Dragon, Hearts to Hearts, IDIT, Aileit, IVE, Kiki, Longshot, NCT WISH, PlayB, RISE, WOODS, and 10CM.

G-Dragon was announced as the first winner of the 'TOP 10' award and said, "I feel good to be the first to start. I want to share the honor with the artists who will be called next. Thank you to the fans." The 'TOP 10' included IVE, aespa, PlayB, Boy Next Door, RISE, NCT WISH, Jennie, Rosé, and Lim Young-woong.

The 'Millions TOP10,' selected by fans from albums that achieved over one million streams within 24 hours of release, included IVE, Jennie, G-Dragon, PlayB, RISE, Boy Next Door, Rosé, Lim Young-woong, IU, and Seventeen. The 'Rookie of the Year' awards went to All Day Project and Hearts to Hearts. All Day Project said, "Thank you to The Black Label staff who helped us stand here. We will work harder starting with this award. Thanks to the fans, we could be here. Also, thank you to the parents of the five members." Hearts to Hearts expressed, "Thank you to the SM Entertainment family and the fans. Thanks to the fans, we can shine more. It's always a joy to be on stage, and we will show a better side of Hearts to Hearts. Our members worked hard, and let's keep working hard going forward."

The grand prize 'Record of the Year' was awarded to Jennie. Jennie said, "First of all, thank you for giving me such a big award. This year is very meaningful to me. I released my first solo album this year and am happy to end the year joyfully. Everyone worked hard, and I want to say I love you. I will continue to make great music. I miss my members so much. Being alone is lonely."

G-Dragon won 'Album of the Year,' 'Artist of the Year,' and 'Best Song of the Year.' He said, "Every year is special and precious, but this year will be remembered as personally meaningful. I named the album 'Übermensch' because I wanted it to sound impressive. It means 'the transcendent,' and it was a spell I cast on myself to become that. I am grateful to all the things in the world that inspire me. I miss the Big Bang members and thank VIP (the fandom)."

Returning to the stage to receive 'Artist of the Year,' G-Dragon said, "I can't think of anything to say other than I'm happy and thankful. I will do better. I will keep working hard to be an artist worthy of this moment. I believe all singers who work in every genre are artists. I will take 'Artist of the Year.'"

Finally, after winning 'Best Song of the Year' as well, G-Dragon stepped onto the stage for the third time and said, "The path to receiving awards is long and tough. That's why it's so meaningful, and I'm very happy. 'Home Sweet Home' is a warm song because the Big Bang members joined me. Thanks to that, I think I spent the year warmly. The congratulatory stages also featured eye-catching moments. From Alphadriveone, who opened the ceremony, to G-Dragon, who closed it, all performers prepared special stages for the '2025 MMA.'

In particular, the band relay stage captured attention. Han Roro, WOODS, and 10CM, who received great love throughout 2025, each performed rocking stages, showing the popularity of band music. Actor Joo Woo-jae made a surprise appearance during 10CM's performance of 'Reaching You' to collaborate.

The final stage of the first part, featuring Jay Park and musicians from Hi-Lite Records, was also well received. Jay Park delivered a fiery live performance with Hi-Lite rappers pH-1, Woody Gochild, Big Naughty, as well as Trade L, Sik-K, and Kim Haon, raising the atmosphere. The rookie boy group Longshot, produced by Jay Park, took over the stage and carried the momentum. Jay Park completed a special stage fitting for the ceremony by performing 'Body' with WJSN's Dayoung.

Zico's stage was also a hot topic. He started with his solo debut song 'Tough Cookie' and followed with 'No You Can't,' proving why he is considered a top producer and rapper. Zico also presented the first live stage with Yoasobi's Ikura, who collaborated with him on the album 'DUET' released on the 19th.

EXO, returning to the '2025 MMA' stage after eight years, and Jennie, attending solo for the first time, also delivered highlights of the ceremony.

The finale was G-Dragon. After concluding his world tour 'Übermensch' at Gocheok Sky Dome on the 6th, he turned the ceremony into an encore of his solo concert.

At the 2025 MMA, G-Dragon proved his enduring popularity and star power by winning seven awards, including three grand prizes. Winning the 'Best Solo Male' category, G-Dragon hinted at Big Bang's comeback, saying, "This year I'm solo, but I hope to receive awards as a group next year."
