Actress Seo Hyun-jin made her return to broadcasting after seven years through JTBC's Friday series "Love Me." Episodes 1 and 2 of "Love Me" focus on the irony of life, centering on the story of the protagonist Seo Jun-kyung, who does not stop living despite her sadness. Seo Jun-kyung is a character who feels loneliness while living amidst complicated emotions within her family.
Episode 1 of "Love Me" recorded a viewership rating of 2.2%, and episode 2 recorded 1.5%. This is considered a somewhat disappointing start. Seo Hyun-jin delicately portrayed a character who hides her sorrow and endures each day, experiencing loneliness and loss. She anchored the drama through the guilt and sadness felt after loss, as well as the subtle excitement with her neighbor, Joo Do-hyun.
Seo Jun-kyung is a well-off obstetrician-gynecologist who has a past of running away from her family after her mother Kim Mi-ran's accident seven years ago. When Jun-kyung faced her family after a long time, she spoke sharply to her mother, who only emphasized her misfortune, and ultimately lost the chance to reconcile. This conflict further complicates Jun-kyung's inner world.
Meeting Joo Do-hyun awakens new feelings in Jun-kyung. Do-hyun's proposal, "Shall we seriously try dating?" becomes a turning point in their relationship. Jun-kyung feels emotions blossoming but still has the desire to run away. However, realizing she cannot do anything alone, she begins to open her heart with a cautious confession, "Let's get to know each other slowly."
The production team commented on Seo Hyun-jin's acting, saying, "She has received enthusiastic praise from viewers from the first week," and that her efforts are shining. They also revealed that the romance between Jun-kyung and Do-hyun will fully begin in episodes 3 and 4. "Love Me" airs two consecutive episodes every Friday at 8:50 PM.
