Chanyeol of the group EXO will participate as a vocal artist in the 20th anniversary project commemorating the beginning of the Korean Wave. Chanyeol will re-sing "From the Beginning Until Now," the main title song of the KBS drama "Winter Sonata." This drama aired on KBS 2TV in 2002 and is regarded as the starting point of the Korean Wave. "Winter Sonata" gained immense popularity throughout Asia, including Japan, and established itself as a representative work of the Korean Wave.

"Winter Sonata" was broadcast in Korean on NHK in 2003 and received explosive support from middle-aged and older women in Japan. It is evaluated as having made a significant contribution to the Korean Wave industry. "From the Beginning Until Now," sung by Chanyeol, was originally performed by RYU and is the main theme song of the drama's OST. The song begins with a beautiful piano melody, and Chanyeol's voice adds a sad and poignant atmosphere.

The arrangement for this project consists of an emotional melody, sparkling piano performance, a 16-piece string ensemble, acoustic guitar, and grand drum sounds. Park Jung-won, the music director who was the overall music director for the drama "Winter Sonata," participated as the executive producer of this project.

The 20th anniversary project commemorating the start of the Korean Wave has already featured singers Chuu, Miyeon from (G)I-DLE, and Hui from PENTAGON, who participated with OSTs from "Summer Scent," "Autumn in My Heart," and "Winter Sonata," respectively. Chanyeol's "From the Beginning Until Now" is the main theme song of this project, and the tracks by participating artists will be released sequentially this winter.

Chanyeol's "From the Beginning Until Now" will be released on various music sites at 6 PM on the 24th. Along with the release of the song, a teaser video for "Winter Sonata" will also be unveiled. This project commemorates the beginning of the Korean Wave and carries the meaning of reinterpreting classic songs of the past with a modern sensibility.
