The group Epik High delivered a special message to BTS. On December 24, Epik High released a video titled "Stanford Crying Tree Seoul Branch Opening Ceremony" on their YouTube channel 'EPIKASE.' In the video, Epik High visited the Express Bus Terminal flower market to set up a Christmas tree for their fans.
In the video, Epik High received greetings from vendors saying, "We watch your YouTube well," realizing their popularity as million-subscriber YouTubers. They initially tried to choose a giant tree priced at 1.2 million won but backed off due to the cost and selected a reasonably priced 2.4-meter tree instead. They also expressed regret when hearing that if Tablo's daughter Haru had been with them, they might have received a celebrity discount.
Afterward, under the name "Ornament Tournament," they began choosing ornaments reflecting their individual tastes. However, due to insufficient prior confirmation about the installation location, Epik High grew worried about whether they could set it up in the concert hall lobby. Tablo felt a sense of crisis, saying, "At this rate, we might end up placing it only in our waiting room," and Took took the role of problem solver by calling the person in charge to confirm the possibility of installation. Meanwhile, the three members eased their hunger by having a meal.
Carrying the tree to the concert hall, Epik High started the installation, battling with numerous lights. They regretted having only three members during the process, saying, "If there were about seven of us, it would finish quickly," referring to BTS, who consists of seven members. They also mentioned BTS's recent live broadcast where 'EPIKASE' was called the most fun, saying, "Since you mentioned it, you should appear. We will wait." Tablo looked forward to BTS's appearance, saying, "It will be the funniest broadcast in history."
While wrapping the tree with lights and installing ornaments like 'Gyubong,' they eventually ran out of ornaments and could not decorate the back of the tree, completing it in a "bare apron" state. Epik High highlighted the tree with a note saying "Crying Tree" and celebrated the opening of the "Crying Tree Seoul Branch." The video also showed a ribbon-cutting ceremony, lighting ceremony, and commemorative photo shoot.
Epik High continues to communicate with fans through weekly YouTube content, exploring various themes beyond music, including daily life and relationships. Through ongoing interaction with fans, they are building closer connections. Epik High's Christmas tree installation process and mention of BTS became a hot topic among fans.
