Kim Hyang-gi transforms into a superpowered character in 'Cashier'... Viewers are 'heartthrobbed' by her tsundere charm

Actress Kim Hyang-gi is gaining attention for showcasing her tsundere charm in the Netflix series "Cashier." "Cashier" is a life-centered superhero story depicting the process of "Sang-woong," a salaried worker struggling with marriage funds and housing costs, gaining the ability to become stronger in proportion to the money he holds. The drama was released on December 26.

Kim Hyang-gi plays the role of Bang Eun-mi, a character who uses telekinesis. Bang Eun-mi is a superpowered individual who can use her abilities based on the calories she consumes, always carrying her favorite bread and ready to use her telekinesis. Kim Hyang-gi portrayed Bang Eun-mi's personality as grumbling about everything but caring for her lawyer and Kang Sang-woong, fighting against the criminal group targeting superpowers with a tsundere charm.

Kim Hyang-gi's acting skills shone in this work as well. She portrayed Bang Eun-mi in a multidimensional way, maximizing the drama's interest. Kim Hyang-gi's stable acting and solid presence stood out even more within the fantasy setting of superpowers. In "Cashier," Kim Hyang-gi added rhythm to the narrative through her relationships with Lee Junho and Kim Byung-chul, appearing like a troubleshooter at moments of crisis and leading the story's development. In scenes where she uses telekinesis, she finely adjusted her movements, expressions, and breathing to convincingly portray an ordinary yet special character.

Kim Hyang-gi completed Bang Eun-mi with her own unique color in a worldview where realistic worries and superpowers intersect. Her performance can be seen on Netflix. Starting with the short-form drama "Can Ghosts Do Laundry?" in the first half of 2025, Kim Hyang-gi continues to cross media boundaries by appearing in various works such as the play "Shakespeare in Love," the film "Hanran," the KBS one-act drama "Love: Track," and the Netflix series "Cashier."
