Singer Lee Chang-min appeared on KBS 2TV's year-end special of 'Immortal Songs,' titled 'Trot Kingdom, Game of Thrones,' and presented a new version of "Jamkkanman." In the episodes aired on the 20th and 27th, Lee Chang-min participated as part of the 'New Trot' team and completed a grand stage reminiscent of a Broadway musical.
Son Tae-jin introduced Lee Chang-min as "a versatile entertainer who holds multiple 'Immortal Songs' trophies and has a distinct color without any sense of alienation despite being in a different genre." Lee Chang-min took the stage in a neat suit, showing refined masculinity and gravitas. The dazzling lighting and stage setup combined with the arrangement, which differentiated from the original song, breathed new life into "Jamkkanman."
Lee Chang-min conveyed the song's earnestness and the joy of the stage with a serious yet relaxed facial expression. As the performance progressed, he heightened the emotions and dominated the stage with explosive high-pitched shouting. In the middle part, he added fun by exchanging lines with dancers in sync with the choreography.
After the stage, Lee Chang-min said, "Since legends appear and sing songs accordingly, I have had many experiences singing trot. I am a 17-year veteran ballad singer, so I was puzzled by this invitation being a 'trot special.' I wondered if I really belonged here."
Lee Chang-min debuted in 2008 as a member of the group 2am. He was recognized as a skilled main vocalist through numerous representative songs such as "This Song," "Can't Let You Go Even If I Die," "I Was Wrong," and "To You Who Don't Answer the Phone." Since 2010, he has expanded his vocal capabilities by performing as part of Homme.
