Pledis Entertainment, the agency of the group TWS, has disclosed the status of legal actions taken against malicious commenters and stalkers. On December 29, the agency announced ongoing legal measures to protect the rights of its artists through official channels.
The agency stated, "We have been regularly taking legal action against authors of malicious posts, including defamation, insults, spreading false information, and malicious slander against our artist TWS, to protect the artist's rights."
They also explained the response to malicious posts. The agency said, "A suspect who defamed the artist by spreading false information was referred to a formal trial after objecting to a summary order, and was once again found guilty by the court." They added, "We are strongly responding to posts that mock the artist's appearance, nationality, use derogatory terms, sexual objectification, spreading false information, and malicious slander."
Pledis Entertainment is monitoring SNS channels and domestic communities in real time and has comprehensively collected evidence of malicious posts and comments infringing on the artist's rights. Based on this, complaints have been filed with investigative agencies, and investigations into multiple cases are underway.
Legal actions against operators of malicious X (formerly Twitter) accounts are also ongoing. The agency explained, "In November, a U.S. court issued a decision citing the 1782 Application we submitted regarding the malicious X account case involving TWS." Accordingly, "We are proceeding with information disclosure requests to Google and X through a U.S. law firm in accordance with relevant laws." This process involves overseas legal procedures and takes time, but the secured materials will be immediately utilized in domestic litigation.
Furthermore, firm legal action has been announced against stalkers who have invaded privacy. The agency said, "We have filed a complaint against a suspect who repeatedly trespassed at events involving the artist and engaged in illegal filming, and the suspect was recently transferred to the competent prosecution office." They emphasized, "We will hold all illegal acts strictly accountable without any settlement or leniency."
TWS is gaining attention with the title track "OVERDRIVE" from their fourth mini-album "play hard," released in October. The song ranked first on Instagram's "Reels Rising Audio" chart and entered Melon's daily, weekly, and November monthly charts. As of December 28, three months after release, "OVERDRIVE" reached 65th place on Melon's daily chart, marking its highest position. Videos featuring "OVERDRIVE" on various short-form platforms have surpassed 180,000 views. On the TikTok music chart, the song holds 2nd place on the "Top 50" and 3rd place on the "Viral 50."
TWS will perform a congratulatory stage at the "2025 MBC Entertainment Awards" broadcast at 8:50 PM on the 29th and will appear on KBS 2TV's "2025 Music Bank Global Festival IN JAPAN" on the 30th. They will also take the stage at the live broadcast of the "2025 MBC Gayo Daejejeon" on the 31st, concluding their activities for 2025.
Pledis Entertainment provided detailed information on legal responses related to violations of artist rights and pledged to do their best to protect the safety and rights of their artists. They requested fans to actively report illegal posts or malicious content through the "HYBE Artist Rights Violation Reporting Site." When reporting, they asked for clear submission of materials that identify URLs, poster names, post content, and posting dates.
Pledis Entertainment expressed, "We sincerely thank the fans for their warm interest and support for TWS, and we will do our best to protect the safety and rights of our artists."
