
Singer and actress IU won the Grand Prize at the '2025 Seoul Con A-Plan Star Awards.' The ceremony, held on the 29th at Art Hall 1 of Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, honored dramas broadcast on various platforms including terrestrial, general programming, cable, and OTT.
IU delivered an outstanding performance playing Oh Ae-soon and her daughter Yang Geum-myung in the Netflix original series 'Poksak Soksassuda.' In her acceptance speech, she said, "'Poksak Soksassuda' is a proud and precious work that will remain like a badge of honor just for having participated in it." She added, "It is a story about people who live their given days faithfully," and expressed hope that "a wonderful reward awaits the lives of all viewers who sent support, understanding, and empathy to their lives."
'Poksak Soksassuda' also won major awards including Best Work and Best Direction. Director Kim Won-seok received the Best Direction award, recognizing the drama's completeness. The drama became the most awarded work of the ceremony, winning a total of six awards including Best Actor in a Mid-Length Drama, Rookie Award, and Youth Child Actor Award.
The Best Actor and Actress awards for mid-length dramas went to Lee Junho and Cha Jooyoung. The Best Actor and Actress awards for long-length dramas were awarded to Ahn Jae-wook and Uhm Ji-won. The Excellence Actor awards for mid-length dramas were given to Lee Junyoung and Shin Ye-eun, while the Excellence Actor awards for long-length dramas went to Seo Hajun and Park Eun-hye.
Male acting awards were given to Ko Gyupil and Yoon Kyungho, and female acting awards to Kim Shinrok and Oh Nara. The Short Drama Acting Award went to Jung Geonju, the Web Drama Male Acting Award to Kim Kihyun, and the Female Acting Award to Park Hasun. Male Rookie Awards were given to Kang Yooseok and Lee Chaemin, and Female Rookie Awards to Ha Young and Hong Hwayeon. Youth Child Actor Awards were given to Kim Taeyeon and Lee Cheonmu.
In the Idol Champ category, the Popularity Awards for male and female actors went to Lee Junho and Kim Hyeyoon, and the Global Star Award was given to Lee Junho. The Best Couple Award went to Lee Hyeri and Jung Soobin, and the Best OST Award to Lim Youngwoong. The Best Entertainer Award was won by Cha Eunwoo.
Special awards included the KS Autoplan Asia Star Award, given to Jinyoung and Jung Soobin, and the KS Autoplan Icon Award, awarded to Han Jieun. The Global Influencer Award for the overseas category went to Ddattawa and Huihu, while the domestic category winners were Kim Pro, Yoo Baekhap, and Park Ilseo.
With this award, IU has further solidified her position not only as a singer but also as an actress. She is currently filming MBC's new drama '21st Century Grand Lady,' which is scheduled to air in April next year. The drama is a romance set in the 21st-century constitutional monarchy of South Korea.
