KBS 2TV’s “Secrets of Celebrity Medical Histories,” featuring singer and broadcaster Lee Chan-won, will take a one-week break due to year-end special programming.
The episode originally scheduled for December 30 has been preempted by the broadcast of “2025 Music Bank Global Festival in JAPAN.” However, viewers’ attention is focused less on the hiatus itself and more on the next chapter to be led by Lee Chan-won.
“Secrets of Celebrity Medical Histories” is Korea’s first medical storytelling variety show, exploring diseases and medical knowledge through the lives and deaths of well-known figures. At the heart of the program is Lee Chan-won, who guides each episode with extensive knowledge and compelling narrative structure.
More than just a host, Lee contextualizes each figure’s life within their historical and social background, allowing viewers to immerse themselves naturally in the story. Known as a passionate history enthusiast who consistently ranked first in social studies during his school years, Lee offers a multidimensional interpretation of each celebrity’s life.
He transforms potentially heavy medical topics into relatable narratives by framing them within human choices and the flow of life, making complex medical information accessible and emotionally engaging.
Thanks to Lee Chan-won’s storytelling, the program has evolved beyond simple information delivery into a “healing variety show” that offers entertainment, comfort, and emotional resonance.
Meanwhile, “Secrets of Celebrity Medical Histories” will return on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., opening the new year with an episode on Kim Dae-jung. Anticipation is high for how Lee Chan-won will portray the life and illnesses of the historical figure in the first episode of the year.
