Ko Geon-han wins the SBS Drama Awards Best Supporting Actor in a Melodrama

Actor Go Geon-han won the Best Supporting Actor award in the Melodrama category at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards. Go Geon-han proved his acting skills by receiving this award at the ceremony broadcast on December 31 last year.

This year, Go Geon-han appeared in SBS's highly anticipated projects for the first and second halves of the year, "My Perfect Secretary" and "Woo Joo Mary Me," showcasing a strong presence. In "My Perfect Secretary," he played Lee Gwang-hee, a rookie consultant in his first year at the company, bringing energy to the drama. Although his self-centered traits sometimes made him seem unpleasant, he displayed an endearing human charm that was hard to dislike. His sly acting and well-timed emotional expressions brought depth to the character, earning praise. He also showed cute couple chemistry through a sweet office romance with teammate Oh Kyung-hwa.

In "Woo Joo Mary Me," he portrayed Jang Eung-soo, the cousin and self-proclaimed rival of Choi Woo-shik's character. Go Geon-han naturally blended sharpness in serious scenes with slyness in lighter moments, delivering both laughter and unexpected twists. His bickering brotherly chemistry with Choi Woo-shik convincingly portrayed a charming character, enhancing the drama's appeal.

In his acceptance speech, Go Geon-han said, "I feel sorry to receive this award among so many senior actors," and expressed gratitude to the teams of "My Perfect Secretary," "Woo Joo Mary Me," and other SBS dramas such as "Taxi Driver 2" in which he appeared. He added, "I read about senior actor Ahn Sung-ki. It made me feel very uneasy," and said, "My mother is also suffering from the same blood cancer. I believe both senior Ahn Sung-ki and my mother will recover soon." He concluded by urging, "Viewers, please be careful with heating costs during the winter and stay healthy."

Go Geon-han began his full-fledged acting career in 2017. He has appeared in dramas such as "The Fairy and the Dragon," "Those Who Read Hearts of Evil," "National Death Penalty Vote," and "Sweet Home," as well as the film "The Outlaws 3," demonstrating versatility across genres and fields. He has built a diverse filmography by showcasing a wide acting spectrum in every project.
