IU, 200 million donated... A helping hand for vulnerable groups such as single mothers and people with disabilities.

Singer and actor IU is fulfilling social responsibility by donating 200 million won as the year comes to a close. On the 31st, her agency EDAM Entertainment announced, "IU donated 200 million won under the name 'IUana'." This donation will be used to support various vulnerable groups, including single mothers, youth preparing for independence, people with disabilities, and the elderly.

The donation was distributed, with 50 million won each going to the Korean Single Mothers Family Association, the Child Rights Protection Agency, Love Snail, and the Woo Yang Foundation. This funding will be used to support single mothers facing economic and social difficulties, provide initial costs for children aging out of foster care, fund cochlear implant surgeries and hearing aids for the hearing impaired, and offer food support to the elderly at risk of hunger during winter.

IU has been donating under the name 'IUana' on meaningful occasions every year, including her debut anniversary, her birthday, and year-end holidays. In March of this year, she donated 200 million won to support victims of large wildfires in the Gyeongsang province and improve the treatment of firefighters. On Children's Day, she donated 150 million won for children and adolescents. She continues her commitment to sharing by donating 200 million won on her birthday and debut anniversary.

Recently, IU won an award for Best Actress at the '2025 AAA' and '2025 APAN Star Awards' for her role in the Netflix series 'Soksaksokda.' She is currently in the middle of filming her upcoming drama '21st Century Great Lady.'

Meanwhile, actor Lee Jong-suk, who is publicly dating IU, also participated in year-end donations. On the 30th, Lee Jong-suk's agency Ace Factory announced, "Lee Jong-suk donated a total of 100 million won, with 50 million won each for the development fund of Seoul Asan Medical Center and to support patients from vulnerable groups." His donation will be used to establish advanced treatment systems for cancer patients at Seoul Asan Medical Center and to support treatment and surgical costs for patients from vulnerable backgrounds.

IU and Lee Jong-suk are consistently donating and spreading positive influence. Lee Jong-suk has been donating to Seoul Asan Medical Center for three years and has extended help to various organizations, ranging from supporting youth preparing for independence to the Korean Medical Association and international relief NGOs. In March of this year, he donated 100 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to help residents affected by wildfires in Ulsan, North Gyeongsang, and South Gyeongsang.

IU and Lee Jong-suk publicly acknowledged their relationship on December 31, 2022, and have been dating for three years. The two first connected in 2021 on SBS's 'Inkigayo' and developed a romantic relationship based on their 10 years of friendship. IU will appear in the MBC drama '21st Century Great Lady' airing in the first half of next year, while Lee Jong-suk will star in the upcoming Disney+ original series 'The Remarried Empress' set to release next year.
