Lee Je-hoon, riding 'Taxi Driver', reaches the top of the SBS Drama Awards... a remarkable achievement of winning the grand prize for two consecutive years.


Actor Lee Je-hoon has won the SBS Acting Awards for the second time in two years with the series "Taxi Driver." The 2025 SBS Acting Awards took place on December 31 at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Lee Je-hoon plays the protagonist 'Kim Do-gi,' who punishes villains on behalf of wronged victims in the currently airing "Taxi Driver 3," earning significant support from viewers.

After winning the grand prize with "Taxi Driver 2" in 2023, this marks his second award. In his acceptance speech, he expressed, "I always strive to act well, but I feel it gets harder the more I try," adding, "I could endure thanks to my fans." He continued, "The biggest driving force behind this series lasting over five years is the viewers," and thanked them for their heartfelt anger and empathy towards the incidents in the show every week.

During the awards ceremony, Lee Je-hoon expressed gratitude to writer Oh Sang-ho and director Kang Bo-seung, as well as appreciation to the Rainbow Transport family. He highlighted, "There were many lonely and tough moments while playing Kim Do-gi," noting, "I could do it because the Rainbow Transport family waited for and supported me."

Lee Je-hoon's acceptance speech touched many hearts, with viewers responding, "I can't even imagine 'Taxi Driver' without Lee Je-hoon," and "The character Kim Do-gi deepens with each season."

Meanwhile, various winners were announced at the 2025 SBS Acting Awards. The Best New Actor award for men went to Kim Dan, Kim Moo-jun, Cha Woo-min, and Ha Yu-jun, while the women's category was awarded to Kim Eun-bi, Woo Da-bi, Hong Hwa-yeon, and Park Jung-yeon. The Best Supporting Actor award went to Lee Seong-wook, Gil Hae-yeon, Go Geon-ha, Lee Sang-hee, Seo Beom-seok, Shin Seul-ki, Lee Hae-young, and Han Dong-hee.

The Best Performance award went to Kim Ui-sung, and the Best Teamwork award was given to the rugby team of Han Yang High School from the drama "Try." The Drama of the Year award was won by "Taxi Driver 3," and in the Best Acting category, Yoo Seung-jae won for men, while Kim Ji-yeon won for women.

In addition, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the late Lee Soon-jae, and the Director's Award went to Yoon Kye-sang. Lee Je-hoon's win reflects the popularity of his role and the drama, emphasizing his contribution to the development of Korean dramas.
