
Jennie recently opened up about her solo career and her thoughts ahead of turning 30 in an interview with U.S. fashion magazine V
The interview was conducted online following a cover shoot in Los Angeles. Jennie spoke about her musical journey, future plans, and excitement for new challenges, saying she still feels like a rookie, just as she did when she released her first album.
Asked about approaching her 30th birthday, Jennie jokingly avoided the topic at first but shared that she feels more anticipation and curiosity than fear about entering a new decade. She described her twenties as a time filled with passion and love.
She also highlighted BLACKPINK’s global success, including selling over 20 million albums worldwide and becoming the first K-pop girl group to top major Western charts. Her solo debut album also ranked high in 19 countries, proving her global appeal. Jennie added that she is scheduled to perform in Tokyo during her birthday week.

BLACKPINK recently wrapped up their world tour, marking Jennie’s return to the stage after three years. She admitted that returning to group activities and touring again came with some fears.
In the interview, Jennie described the concept of “home” not as a physical place, but as the pride and sense of accomplishment she feels toward what she has created. She said her work helps guide her through life.
Balancing solo and group activities, Jennie shared that presenting different music on stage and viewing performances from a new perspective was enjoyable. She added that being on stage together feels like coming home.
Expressing pride in her achievements so far, Jennie said she plans to continue dreaming bigger and moving forward.
