Investigations have begun into Park Na-rae's illegal medical allegations... Mr. A is subject to a departure ban.

The police are investigating allegations of illegal medical practices against broadcaster Park Na-rae. They have placed a travel ban on A, known as 'Injection Aunt,' who is under suspicion. This incident has accelerated the police investigation into illegal medical practices involving multiple celebrities.

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul has applied charges against A for violating the Medical Law, the Pharmacy Law, and for illegal prescriptions of psychotropic drugs under the Narcotics Control Act, leading to the travel ban. A is reported to have conducted illegal medical practices such as intravenous injections and prescriptions for antidepressants to Park in locations like an officetel and a vehicle, rather than a medical institution.

The medical community has expressed serious concerns about this incident. Lim Hyun-taek, the former president of the Korean Medical Association, filed a complaint against A with the prosecution early last month. A petition requesting an emergency travel ban for A has also been submitted to the Ministry of Justice. The prosecution transferred the case to the police on the 6th of last month.

The Korean Medical Association sent an official document to the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, urging the government to impose strong sanctions on A and to implement measures to prevent recurrence. The association stated in the document that A is suspected of providing illegal medical services, collecting prescriptions, hoarding drugs, and making proxy prescriptions. They also emphasized the need to immediately verify whether A holds a domestic medical license.

Practices by unlicensed individuals are illegal and punishable under relevant laws. If unlicensed medical practices are detected, one may face imprisonment of up to five years or fines up to 50 million won. Even if A holds a domestic medical license, medical practices outside medical facilities are strictly limited. In such cases, fines of up to 5 million won may be imposed.

A has claimed through her social media that she studied in Inner Mongolia 12 to 13 years ago and served as the youngest professor at Hohhot Inner Mongolia Medical University. However, these claims are at the center of controversy.

Another controversy surrounding Park Na-rae is escalating, as her former manager has filed a lawsuit against her for injury, intensifying the legal dispute. Former manager A recently submitted a medical certificate stating a two-week recovery period and a treatment confirmation document to the police. A claims that during a drinking session in August 2023, Park threw a glass at him, causing bruising on his face and cuts on his hand. He stated that he received treatment at a nearby general hospital's emergency room immediately after the incident.

A alleges that he received verbal abuse from Park for refusing to drink and claims that he was injured when the glass was thrown. The police are considering interviewing two acquaintances who were present at the time as witnesses. Park's side has strongly refuted A's claims, stating, "No such situation as described has ever occurred."

Park Na-rae's former managers have accused her of special injury and defamation through false statements. Park has countersued her former managers for attempted extortion and embezzlement in relation to her work, initiating legal action. Furthermore, Park is embroiled in allegations of receiving illegal medical services from an unlicensed provider.

The police are set to conduct a thorough investigation into both Park Na-rae and A. In addition to allegations of illegal medical practices, Park is involved in several other charges, including special injury, violations of the Culture Industry Promotion Act, and embezzlement. Park's side insists that A held a medical license and that she merely received a simple nutritional injection. The law firm representing her stated that due to a busy schedule, it was difficult for her to visit the hospital, and that she requested home care to receive intravenous therapy, which they argue was a legitimate medical service.

This incident has the potential to lead to substantial criminal penalties beyond a simple personal controversy. The outcome of the police investigation is likely to have significant implications for Park Na-rae's future activities.
