A Brazilian woman who visited Jungkook's house has been charged with violating stalking laws.

The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced on January 4 that they have charged a foreign woman, referred to as A, with violations of the Stalking Punishment Act after she visited the residence of BTS member Jungkook multiple times. A, a woman in her 30s of Brazilian nationality, is accused of violating a restraining order by approaching Jungkook's home within 100 meters at around 2:50 PM that day.

The police confirmed A's approach through closed-circuit (CC) TV footage and took additional action after receiving a report from security personnel. A had previously been charged with trespassing for visiting Jungkook's residence twice in December of last year, where she placed mail and rang the doorbell. Following these incidents, it was reported that Jungkook's team applied for a restraining order against A.

A is said to have caused a disturbance by throwing mail in front of Jungkook's house. The police plan to investigate the circumstances of the incident involving A. This is not the first time Jungkook has experienced home invasion issues. In June of last year, a woman in her 30s from China was arrested for attempting to enter his home multiple times on the date of his military discharge and received a suspended prosecution.

In October of the same year, a woman in her 40s of Korean nationality was referred to the prosecution for illegally entering Jungkook's parking lot, and a month later, a woman in her 50s of Japanese nationality was charged for attempting to unlock the door of Jungkook's residence. These incidents illustrate the repeated access attempts by foreign women to Jungkook's residence.

The police plan to widen the application scope of the Stalking Punishment Act through A's case and strengthen measures to protect celebrities' residences. BTS has gained significant popularity both domestically and internationally, leading to frequent threats to the members' privacy. The police intend to establish measures for the protection of celebrities and enhance crackdowns on stalking and trespassing incidents.

Big Hit Music, Jungkook's agency, has announced plans for strong legal action regarding A's approach. The agency stated, "We will prioritize Jungkook's safety and privacy and take all necessary measures." This incident has once again highlighted the seriousness of the stalking issue faced by celebrities.

Jungkook continues to be active both domestically and internationally as a member of BTS, valuing communication with fans. However, these stalking incidents pose significant obstacles to his ability to perform safely. It is necessary for the police and the agency to implement more thorough protective measures to ensure that high-profile individuals like Jungkook can live safely.

This incident has raised hopes for improvements in legal systems and social awareness regarding the protection of celebrities. Since the implementation of the Stalking Punishment Act, continuous efforts are needed to create a safe environment for both celebrities and the general public.
