Kian84 completed the Medoc Marathon in France and challenged himself to the Arctic Marathon on the MBC entertainment program 'Extreme 84.'
In the episode that aired on the 4th, Kian84 experienced severe condition issues in the latter part of the Medoc Marathon but continued the race. Due to the aftermath of the previous day, his physical condition was not optimal, leading him to alternate between running and walking, feeling frustrated by the situation. He showed signs of vomiting, displaying exhaustion both physically and mentally.
In a situation where injuries and dropouts were common, Kian84, reflecting on his responsibility as a crew leader, raised his pace and reached the 36km mark in 4 hours and 7 minutes. Using a flamboyant cosplay runner as a pace maker, he pushed forward and was moved to tears after receiving ice cream at the 41km mark. He then successfully completed the marathon by overtaking other runners.
Finishing in 862nd place among about 8,500 participants, Kian84 expressed his disappointment, saying, "I felt regretful. Even though I ran much more than before, I thought, 'Why can't I run better?' and I was very disappointed in myself." He also vowed that if he couldn't perform well in the next marathon, he would share his running shoes with everyone and retire from running.
Kian84 sincerely thanked Kwon Hwa-woon, Lee Eun-ji, and Tsuki, who completed the race, saying, "I am always grateful." Reflecting on completing the Medoc Marathon, he stated, "It was extreme for me, but after the hardship, everything is so happy. It hasn't been long since I started, but I'm glad we could overcome it together." He left a message for the crew, saying, "Our running has just begun, so let's practice harder."
After successfully completing the Africa Marathon and the France Marathon, Kian84 threw down the challenge for the Arctic Marathon, the coldest marathon on Earth. Ahead of the Arctic Marathon, he began preparations through videos and research but faced difficulties due to a lack of information. He later met new crew member Gangnam and checked safety tips with an expert before heading to the Arctic.
'Extreme 84' airs every Sunday at 9:10 PM.
