Lee Jeong-yong appeared on 'As Morning Comes' with his sons, who major in musical theater, showcasing a family choir performance.

Actor Lee Jung-yong appeared on KBS1's 'Morning Garden' on January 6th with his sons Lee Mi-deum and Lee Ma-eum. During the broadcast, Lee Ma-eum announced that he had been accepted into college as a musical theater major. He stated, "I was very lucky to be accepted as a freshman in college for musical theater this time." Lee Ma-eum explained that he had been interested in performances from a young age due to his father's influence.

His older brother, Lee Mi-deum, is also a college student majoring in musical theater. He congratulated his brother on his acceptance, saying, "As a senior in the entrance exam process, I know it's not easy to get accepted in the third year of high school. There aren't many musical theater programs in Seoul, so I was worried." Lee Mi-deum expressed his anxieties about whether his brother could be accepted despite studying acting at an arts high school.

Lee Mi-deum also shared his own entrance exam experience. He said, "Actually, I was preparing to be a golfer. I entered a high school with a golf program, but that ended up being a disadvantage for me. There were many talented friends from all over the country, and I lost confidence." Later, he became interested in musical theater by watching his brother and began pursuing it without any prior experience at the end of his third year of high school.

Lee Jung-yong mentioned that he never imagined his sons would major in musical theater, saying, "Pursuing a career as an actor together is really challenging. You always have to be chosen by someone and prepare to be selected." He added, "The number of people who succeed is very small. The path will be determined by how hard these kids work."

Lee Jung-yong revealed that he initially had concerns about his sons majoring in musical theater. He stated, "I was worried at first because it costs a lot of money. It's not easy to raise two children in the arts in one household." However, he noted that the children showed a passion for musical theater, and he decided to support them upon seeing their potential.

During the broadcast, Lee Jung-yong sang the number "This Moment" from the musical 'Jekyll and Hyde' passionately with his sons. After finishing the performance, he expressed his feelings, saying, "Seeing my kids strong like this makes me think I raised them well." He reminisced about his past, recalling 1993 when he took his first steps as a musical actor. He mentioned, "I started musical theater after my military service, but it was a tough time financially."

Lee Jung-yong explained, "I had to make a living for my family, so I had to take bigger steps. I took broadcasting exams but kept failing. Eventually, I passed the comedian exam." Despite working as a comedian, he did not give up on his dream of becoming an actor and continued his acting career by appearing in dramas.

Lee Mi-deum expressed his surprise at hearing about his father's past for the first time and said that seeing his father inspired him to have hope for his own future. Lee Jung-yong felt overwhelmed with emotion watching his sons perform on stage, recalling, "When I first saw Mi-deum's performance, it felt like I was watching an actor."

Finally, Lee Jung-yong shared his New Year's wish, stating, "I hope for the health and peace of my family." Lee Mi-deum made a resolution to "want to be a prepared person," while Lee Ma-eum expressed his ambition to "work hard so that I can come to Morning Garden as an actor Lee Ma-eum next time."
