Music platform Melon has announced the '2025 Domestic and International Annual Chart' TOP 100, summarizing the most beloved songs throughout 2025. According to Melon on January 8, the number one song on the domestic annual chart is WOODZ's "Drowning." Since its release in 2023, this song gained significant attention through live videos and caused a sensation on the charts about a year and a half later. WOODZ secured the top spot on the 2025 annual chart with this track, establishing it as the biggest hit of the year.
In 2025, male solo musicians showed remarkable dominance. G-DRAGON returned after 11 years with his full-length album Übermensch, and the song "HOME SWEET HOME (feat. Imujin demonstrated his strength as a music powerhouse by placing four songs on the annual chart, including "Episode." 10CM stirred a challenge craze with their Korean remake of the OST for the animation "Kimi ni Todoke," landing at number 10 on the chart.
The rise of new generation artists was also remarkable. The co-ed group ALLDAY PROJECT, which debuted in 2025, placed "FAMOUS" at number 23, while Starship's rookie girl group KiiiKiii ranked 63rd with "I DO ME." Hearts2Hearts, continuing the legacy of SM girl groups, placed "The Chase" and "STYLE" at 81 and 89 respectively. BOYNEXTDOOR's "Only Today I LOVE YOU" ranked 12th, BABYMONSTER's "DRIP" was 28th, and ILLIT's "Magnetic" reached 43rd, highlighting the achievements of fifth-generation idols.
BLACKPINK's power was also impressive. Their new song "JUMP" ranked 27th, while the members' solo tracks gained strong popularity. ROSÉ and Bruno Mars's collaboration "APT." reached number 6, and JENNIE's "like JENNIE" placed 11th, proving their global phenomenon through chart performance.
The dominance of artists with multiple chart entries continued. DAY6 placed six songs on the chart, including "HAPPY" at 8th and "So That It Can Be a Page" at 17th. Both DAY6 and BTS entered six songs each, with BTS's "Whiplash" at 3rd and "Supernova" at 22nd, making them the artists with the most entries. IVE and G-DRAGON also demonstrated strong music power by placing five songs each on the chart.
On the international chart, the Netflix animation "K-Pop Demon Hunters" OST set unprecedented records. "Golden," featuring EJAE, took first place, and eight songs from the "K-Pop Demon Hunters" OST ranked within the top 30. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars's "Die With A Smile" ranked third, proving the power of a classic. Kendrick Lamar appeared in the upper ranks with "Not Like Us," performed at the Super Bowl halftime show, and "luther," featuring SZA.
J-pop's popularity has also become mainstream. Thanks to the success of "Chainsaw Man: The Movie - Reze Arc," the theme song "IRIS OUT" ranked ninth, and the ending song "JANE DOE" placed 64th on the annual chart. Tuki.'s "晩餐歌 - Bansanka" and Official Hige Dandism's "Pretender" also entered the chart, showing notable presence.
