Singer Sookhaeng reappeared on MBN's trot survival program "Active King 3." On the January 6th broadcast of the program, Sookhaeng competed against singer Kang Hyeyeon. However, the stage prepared by Sookhaeng was not aired. During the broadcast, the production team displayed a subtitle stating, "Due to the nature of the competition with winners and losers, we ask for your understanding that Sookhaeng's stage was inevitably shortened for the sake of understanding the results." The production team added, "Please understand that Sookhaeng's first-round main stage was inevitably edited after careful consideration of viewers' sentiments."

Sookhaeng was recently embroiled in an affair scandal through JTBC's "Case Manager" broadcast. On the January 29th episode, a story was shared about a housewife in her 40s with two children whose husband was having an affair with a famous female trot singer. The informant claimed that her husband was living with Ms. A, and that apartment CCTV footage showed the two engaging in physical intimacy. At the time of the broadcast, the mistress was reported to be Ms. A, but later the female singer was identified as Sookhaeng.

Sookhaeng posted a handwritten apology on her SNS, stating, "I will withdraw from the program I was appearing on to prevent further harm. All facts will be clarified through legal procedures later." Mr. B, a married man who dated Sookhaeng, expressed his position through a YouTube channel on January 1st, saying, "Sookhaeng is actually the victim." Mr. B claimed, "While separated on the premise of divorce, I started dating Sookhaeng. Although I do not deny that Sookhaeng met a married man like me, she may feel wronged. She probably thought we were already divorced, even though the paperwork was not finalized." He also stated, "Living together is impossible," and added, "I will formally file for divorce."

Regarding Sookhaeng's withdrawal announcement, the "Active King 3" production team said, "We plan to completely edit out Sookhaeng's solo stages going forward," but added, "Since this is a competition, there are stages involving other contestants, so we will minimize those parts in a way that does not disadvantage other participants." Accordingly, most scenes were edited out in last week's broadcast, showing only Sookhaeng's reactions. However, this week's broadcast included scenes of her participating in the competition, sparking controversy.

Sookhaeng debuted in 2011 with the single album "Priority Zero" and has been active with songs such as "Gasiri," "Cham Cham Cham," and "Because I'm a Woman." She placed sixth in TV Chosun's "Tomorrow's Miss Trot" in 2019 and is currently appearing on MBN's "Active King 3" and JTBC's "Only Talk." Controversy surrounding Sookhaeng's future activities continues to attract attention.
