Amid the power abuse controversy between broadcaster Park Na-rae and her former manager Mr. A escalating into a legal battle, a recording of their phone conversation has been released. This recording contains content that contradicts Mr. A's claims, causing a shift in public opinion. On January 9, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho uploaded a video titled "Shocking Exclusive! Obtained Recording File of Park Na-rae's Power Abuse Controversy... The Reality of the 500 Million Won Settlement" on his channel, revealing the phone conversation.
Park Na-rae claimed that after the power abuse controversy arose, she resolved misunderstandings and distrust through a meeting with former manager Mr. A. Through Instagram, Park Na-rae stated, "I still believe everything is my fault and deeply reflect on it." However, Mr. A's side asserted, "There was no settlement or apology at all," and claimed that Park Na-rae said, "Can't we go back to how we were before?" This further intensified the power abuse controversy surrounding Park Na-rae.
The released phone recording shows Mr. A calling Park Na-rae while intoxicated, and Park Na-rae soothing him and engaging in conversation. Mr. A tearfully said, "I don't know how it came to this situation," and Park Na-rae comforted him. The conversation also included concerns about Park Na-rae's pet dog, Bokdol. Mr. A expressed worry about Park Na-rae's mother as well, saying, "I didn't intend to go this far."
It is reported that Mr. A later met with Park Na-rae and talked for about three hours. Initial reports stated that Park Na-rae called Mr. A in the early morning, but it was confirmed that Mr. A, intoxicated, went near Park Na-rae's house. Park Na-rae's side's claim that "they wiped away misunderstandings and conflicts while crying together" appears to have come from this context.
Although Park Na-rae announced that the misunderstanding was resolved, Mr. A reportedly changed his attitude significantly around 2 p.m. In the released KakaoTalk messages, Park Na-rae expressed confusion, saying, "When we talked at my house, I thought we had cleared up misunderstandings and grudges." Mr. A replied, "It's too hard," and said he wanted to resolve the matter legally. Park Na-rae continued the conversation, saying, "I even developed panic disorder and social phobia," but Mr. A stated his position as "I will terminate the settlement."
As former managers continue to expose Park Na-rae's private life, public opinion is shifting with the release of Mr. A's recording. Netizens criticize Mr. A's behavior as "crying in front but stabbing in the back," while others opine, "It doesn't seem to be Park Na-rae's fault alone."
The power abuse controversy began with the issue of not being enrolled in the four major social insurances. Lee Jin-ho claimed, "In a meeting in September 2024 with Park Na-rae and the tax officer, Mr. A was asked to choose between enrolling in the four major insurances or receiving payment as a freelancer, and it was reported that Mr. A preferred the business income method, which only deducts 3.3% tax." The claim that Mr. A repeatedly requested enrollment in the four major insurances but was refused is said to be untrue.
Since December of last year, Park Na-rae has suspended activities amid the power abuse controversy and illegal medical procedure allegations raised by former managers. Currently, the claims between Park Na-rae and her former managers are conflicting, and the related matters are proceeding into legal disputes.
