Suga of BTS shared a warm update with fans for the end of the year alongside his cat, Tangi. On December 28, Suga connected with fans via a Weverse Live and formally introduced Tangi, who had long sparked curiosity among fans.
At the start of the broadcast, Suga showed off his intellectual charm by sharing that he recently started wearing glasses due to worsening eyesight. He then introduced the black cat in his arms, revealing its name is Tangi. Suga explained that he had originally planned to raise two cats named Seol and Tang (meaning Sugar in Korean) and had pre-selected the names, but since this friend arrived first by chance, he gave him the name Tangi.
Tangi is one of the kittens born to a friend's cat, a mixed breed whose father was a stray. Now three years old, Tangi has grown healthily, reaching a weight of 6.4kg. Suga expressed his affection by mentioning how smart Tangi is, even opening closed doors to come inside.
Tangi's gentle personality particularly caught the eyes of fans. Suga boasted that since he is a first-time cat owner, he initially thought all cats were like this, but Tangi is very well-behaved even when getting his nails clipped or taking a bath. He also shared that unlike most cats, Tangi does not mind his belly being touched and shows a lot of affection by kneading (kkukkuk-ie) under Suga's arm.
A heartwarming anecdote with member Jimin was also mentioned. Suga added that despite having a cat allergy, Jimin finds Tangi very cute and even pets Tangi's belly, hinting at the strong friendship between the members.
Suga concluded the broadcast by wishing fans good health for the year-end and promising to return soon. Fans responded enthusiastically to Suga's look with glasses and the first official appearance of the adorable Tangi.
