Kim Min-su of the YouTube channel 'Pisik University' sparked controversy by making inappropriate remarks about Chef Kim Si-hyun, a cast member of the Netflix variety show 'Black and White Chef 2.' On January 12, 'Pisik University' issued an official apology in the comments section. The apology included the statement, "We apologize for causing discomfort by mentioning a chef who did not appear in this content." It also added, "We intended to delete the relevant segment immediately, but the process is currently delayed due to system reasons. We will take action as quickly as possible."
The controversy arose from the episode titled "Asking the Napoli Mafia Who Won Black and White Chef Season 1," uploaded on January 11. The video featured Chef Kwon Sung-jun, the winner of 'Black and White Chef 1,' as a guest. Kim Min-su mentioned Chef Kim Si-hyun to Kwon Sung-jun, asking, "Do you know Baby Beast?" Kwon Sung-jun responded with a bewildered expression, saying, "Why?" Kim Min-su then asked again, "Don't you know his phone number?" Kwon Sung-jun replied, "He was born in 00," advising Kim Min-su to consider his age.
Kim Min-su said, "What's the problem? Hello, Baby Beast. I am an adult beast. I like you, and let's go on a date sometime. I want to ask her out." This remark caused significant controversy among viewers immediately after the broadcast. Many netizens reacted by saying, "It is rude to mention a chef who was not present and has no connection to the Napoli Mafia." Comments such as "This is not funny but rude" and "The guest looks uncomfortable" followed.
Ultimately, the 'Pisik University' production team decided to delete the scene. After Kim Min-su's remarks caused controversy, the production team released an official statement through an apology. This appears to be a measure taken in consideration of the impact of words and actions in broadcast content on viewers.
Kim Min-su has previously caused several controversies. This incident is recorded as another case where he was criticized for inappropriate remarks. 'Pisik University' indicated that it will take care to prevent such situations from recurring in the future.
