Soobin and Beomgyu, the representative best friend duo of TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), engaged in a desperate survival game for their pride and to avoid a humiliating video being archived in the middle of Myeongdong. In the 165th episode of TO DO X TXT released on the 12th, the two competed for a massive prize: a promotional video on a gigantic screen in Myeongdong, four times the size of a basketball court, for the winner—and a terrifying penalty for the loser: a defeat acknowledgment video displayed for five months.
The most talked-about scene was the Round 2 debate. On the topic of which is worse—badmouthing to one's face vs. behind one's back—Soobin argued for the latter, saying, For my mental health, it's better not to know. Meanwhile, Beomgyu flustered Soobin with the eccentric logic that keeping a bad relationship is better than having no friends at all. Despite being exasperated by Beomgyu's stubbornness, Soobin emphasized the importance of mental health and eventually won, showcasing his status as the King of Logic.
The peak of the competition was the Round 3 optical illusion costume battle. Soobin and Beomgyu temporarily gave up their perfect visuals to appear in ridiculous outfits, including clown costumes and Taekwondo uniforms. In particular, Beomgyu's team created a bizarre yet perfect optical illusion performance by connecting their bodies to look as if they had multiple legs, completely owning the scene. Their physical comedy, which went beyond the limits of visual idols, ultimately brought a comeback victory to Beomgyu's team.
However, the end of the match was heartwarming. Beomgyu, the final winner, decided to put up a promotional video for member Yeonjun, who recently made a solo comeback, instead of his own. Although the two bickered throughout the three-day challenge, they showed deep friendship by thinking of the team and their member, touching the hearts of fans. Fans responded enthusiastically, looking forward to seeing both Soobin's defeat video and Yeonjun's promotion on the giant screen in Myeongdong.
