Seohyun, a member of the girl group Girls' Generation and an actress, will transform into a violinist and take the stage. Seohyun will participate as a special collaborator in the "Sol Philharmonic Orchestra's 8th Regular Concert," held at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on March 13 at 8 p.m. In this performance, Seohyun will play Vittorio Monti's masterpiece "Csárdás," conveying the charm of classical music to the audience.
The reason Seohyun is taking the stage this time is that she is an amateur player who has been learning the violin for about five months. She calls herself a "violin beginner" and expressed her determination to show a passion for enjoying music rather than the perfection of a professional performer. Seohyun's participation was realized because she sympathized with the purpose of the "Sol Philharmonic Orchestra," which consists of people who love classical music but are not professional musicians. She decided to collaborate with the hope of lowering the barrier to classical music and making the genre more familiar to the public.
Seohyun said, "I hope many people feel closer to classical music through my challenge and discover new enjoyment," adding, "I want to let people know that classical music, like popular music, is 'music for all of us' that anyone can easily and joyfully enjoy." She is preparing diligently, coordinating with the orchestra for this performance. The violin melodies played by Seohyun are expected to offer a new charm of classical music to pop music fans and provide fresh and pure energy to classical music enthusiasts.
A representative of the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra said, "Seohyun's participation will further lower the threshold for classical performances," adding, "It will be a very special stage filled with a pure love for music." Seohyun is taking on the role of a bridge to the classical genre beyond a simple personal challenge, showing diverse activities as an artist beyond being an actress.
This concert will be conducted by Jo Sang-wook and feature violinists Baek Ju-young and Seohyun, among others, with a program including Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, Márquez's Danzón No. 2, and Vivaldi's Spring from The Four Seasons. Tickets are available through Lotte Concert Hall and NOL ticket. Seohyun's stage is expected to offer a new perspective on classical music and provide the audience with a special experience.
