Group Enhypen will make a comeback on January 16 with their 7th mini album, "THE SIN : VANISH," marking their return after seven months. This album deepens the 'vampire' universe they have continuously expanded since their debut, reaching a new turning point. The core keyword of the album is 'escape,' telling the story of lovers who break taboos and flee in a society where humans and vampires coexist. Six songs, narration, and skits are organically combined to complete a narrative album.
Enhypen is recognized as one of the 4th generation K-pop representative groups with the clearest world-building narrative. Their narrative draws attention due to its unique fantasy setting and the emotional realism within it. From the debut, portraying boys standing on the boundary of a strange world to their growth process, they have naturally integrated their story into the universe, building their own narrative. The completion of this narrative is rooted in their relationship with their fandom. Fans act as the central axis of the story, which has translated into success.
All five albums in the Blood, Romance, and Desire series surpassed 1 million in initial sales, with three of them achieving double million-seller status. Their 2nd full album, "ROMANCE : UNTOLD," became the group's first triple million-seller, proving a virtuous cycle where narrative expansion and achievements are intertwined. Last year, Enhypen's cumulative annual album sales approached 3 million, and their 6th mini album, "DESIRE : UNLEASH," ranked 4th on the annual album chart for the standard edition, marking the third highest position among all artists.
Enhypen's achievements in the Japanese market were also remarkable. Their single "Yo-i (宵)" ranked 8th on the Oricon annual singles ranking, the highest among foreign artists. With cumulative shipments exceeding 750,000 copies, they received their first triple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Building on these achievements, Enhypen will emphasize performance alongside a deeper world view in this album.
The teaser for the title track "Knife" music video, released before the new album, features gestures shaped like blades and sharp, synchronized choreography, reaffirming their status as performance powerhouses. Their stage competitiveness, proven through last year's Coachella performance and world tour, is expected to be concentratedly displayed. The title track "Knife" is a hip-hop song with lyrics co-written by Gaeko of Dynamic Duo, enhancing the message's density. The strategy to expand connections with global listeners is evident through more intuitive sounds and rhythms.
Pop culture critic Ha Jae-geun said, "Enhypen is at a stage where they are proving that they can expand their popularity without abandoning their world-building," adding, "If this album becomes a puzzle for fans and music that even newcomers can follow emotionally, Enhypen will prove themselves as a leading 4th generation group securing both popularity and narrative."
The new album "THE SIN : VANISH" is a new chapter in the evolved 'dark fantasy' narrative. It sings the story of lovers who break societal taboos in a world where humans and vampires coexist and choose to escape for love, offering a way to appreciate music beyond just listening. As a 'concept album' where tracks, lyrics, and sounds are intricately connected, all areas including music, visuals, and marketing are tightly interwoven, promising a new level of immersion.
The title track "Knife" is a hip-hop song expressing the confidence of lovers who will confront any threat without yielding, characterized by impactful trap beats and sharp synth sounds. "THE SIN : VANISH" includes a total of 11 tracks: 4 narrations, 1 skit, and 6 songs. The narration tracks "The Beginning of the Incident," "The Fugitives," "The Voice We Were Looking For," and "Beyond the Incident" feature the voice of a program host reporting on the vampire escape incident. These narrations are produced in four languages—Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese—to aid global listeners' understanding.
Korean narration is performed by actor Park Jung-min, Japanese by well-known local actor and voice actor Tsuda Kenjirou, and Chinese by popular singer Huang Zihongpan. Since their debut in 2021, Enhypen has surpassed 1 million initial sales for all five albums in the BLOOD, ROMANCE, and DESIRE series. Among these, three works achieved double million-seller status, and their 2nd full album "ROMANCE : UNTOLD" recorded their first triple million-seller.
Last year, they won three grand prizes at major year-end award ceremonies. The "MAMA Awards" grand prize (FANS' CHOICE OF THE YEAR), selected directly by fans, holds even greater significance. Based on their achievements in 2025, Enhypen dreams of another evolution in the new year. Their agency, Believe Lab, previewed the transformation of the title track "Knife" as "more intense and rougher than before." The deeper vampire universe and the more grown Enhypen begin their journey in 2026.
