Actress Kang Eun-bi revealed that she experienced a miscarriage at 21 weeks of pregnancy. On January 15, Kang Eun-bi posted a video on her Instagram with the message, "Sansam (nickname), I love you, let's meet again." She shared the news of the miscarriage, saying, "At 21 weeks, on January 3, I said goodbye to Sansam."
On December 29, at 20 weeks and 2 days, Kang Eun-bi underwent a detailed ultrasound examination and was diagnosed during the test with "possible amniotic fluid leakage." As a result, she was urgently transferred to a higher-level hospital. She explained, "All tests had been normal until then, I could feel the baby's movements well, and I had no fever or pain," and thought the cause of the problem was overwork.
Two days after being hospitalized, the amniotic fluid level dropped to zero, and she was diagnosed with "suspected premature rupture of membranes." Kang Eun-bi endured two more days on absolute bed rest with a urinary catheter, but the baby's position was unstable and no amniotic fluid was produced. She said, "Because I was so ignorant, I had to make the decision that 'the baby is enduring pain because of my fault,'" and accepted the situation of having to let the baby go.
Kang Eun-bi said the baby was born through induced labor and passed away immediately, adding, "There was nothing I could do except cry out loud." On January 3, she lost her first child. Determined to handle the funeral procedures herself, she was discharged and headed to the crematorium. She confessed, "I felt sorry to send him off alone on such a cold day, so I just stood there in a daze and cried."
Kang Eun-bi said, "I am sending Sansam off and leaving this video as the last memory," and added, "Thank you for being with me for those five months that felt both short and long. Because of you, I became a mother, and my days were filled with smiles and happiness." She sobbed, "If you come back to me as my son again, I will surely remember you, never forget you, and be ready to meet you healthier. I love you, my baby."
She showed self-blame, saying, "I couldn't protect my child," while her husband, Byun Jun-pil, comforted her, saying, "You didn't fail to protect him," and, "Honestly, I don't need a baby. I just want to see you and hope you are okay."
Kang Eun-bi married Byun Jun-pil, a former internet celebrity, in April last year. In September, she announced on social media that she was pregnant naturally, saying, "After three months, a precious baby angel came to us, and we became prospective parents. The due date is May 2026." The two are alumni of Seoul Institute of the Arts and are the same age, with Byun Jun-pil working in interior design.
Kang Eun-bi and Byun Jun-pil denied dating rumors that surfaced in 2008, and after 17 years of being together, they tied the knot. This incident reveals Kang Eun-bi's personal pain and has brought sorrow to many.
