Wonhee of the group ILY:1 attracted attention by appearing on his first terrestrial talk variety show. The January 14th episode of "Radio Star" featured Park Geun-hyung, Song Ok-sook, Choi Hyun-woo, and Wonhee in the special segment "National OOO." Wonhee appeared on a terrestrial talk variety show for the first time since his debut and led the studio atmosphere with his characteristic honesty and bright energy.
Born in 2007, Wonhee emphasized his special connection with the program by mentioning, "Radio Star started in 2007, so it's the same age as me." He added, "It's an honor to appear on such a prestigious program," showing the spirit of a rookie.
He also prepared a personal skill for the MCs. Confidently performing a "Crayon Shin-chan impression," he did not get the expected reaction, so he immediately challenged himself to eat a whole lemon. After eating the lemon without blinking an eye, he finished with a "Mochi Peace," successfully defending his personal skill and creating an impromptu showdown with MC Kim Gura, adding more laughter.
During the broadcast, Wonhee also shared his honest thoughts about the nickname "Nation's Little Sister." He said, "The nickname 'Nation's Little Sister' was given to me by Radio Star," and added, "Actually, I want to become the nation's strong girl." Contrary to his cute image, he revealed his desire for a strong concept and shared his experience of struggling with facial expressions early in his career.
Additionally, Wonhee heated up the scene instantly by performing an ILY:1 medley dance. His fresh energy and stable performance brought smiles to the senior guests. He also revealed how his daily life has changed since becoming an adult. Now twenty years old this year, Wonhee shared an episode about drinking alcohol with his parents for the first time and mentioned that he can now watch late-night horror movies, which was previously restricted. He candidly talked about the tension he felt when showing his ID for the first time while buying alcohol at a convenience store.
He continued his entertaining talk by adding plans to get a driver's license and stories related to his nickname "Hamborghini." Despite it being his first talk variety show appearance, Wonhee left a strong impression with his natural wit and active reactions, showcasing the charm of a "variety rookie."
MBC's "Radio Star" airs every Wednesday at 10:30 PM. Wonhee's future activities are highly anticipated.
