Group Seventeen has produced its first 300 million streaming song on Spotify. According to the latest Spotify data, Seventeen's 10th mini album 'FML' title track "Son Ogong" recorded a cumulative 300,387,949 streams as of January 16. This is the first time a Seventeen song has surpassed 300 million streams.
"Son Ogong" is one of the double title tracks from Seventeen's 10th mini album 'FML,' released in October 2023. The song was written and composed by member Woozi and singer-producer Bumzu, metaphorically expressing Seventeen's evolution through trials and setbacks by comparing it to "Son Ogong."
At the time of its release, the song ranked number one on Melon and Bugs real-time charts and remained on the Billboard Global 200 chart for 12 weeks, indicating its worldwide popularity. Additionally, in May, it surpassed 100 million cumulative streams in Japan and received a 'Platinum' certification in the streaming category from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
Seventeen currently holds a total of 17 songs with over 100 million streams. Besides "Son Ogong," "Hot," "Don't Wanna Cry," and "Very Nice" each have over 200 million streams, while "Rock with You," "Darling," "Left & Right," "Clap," "Pretty," "_World," "Ready to Love," "God of Music," "Home," and "Maestro" each have over 100 million streams.
Seventeen recently won the main award in the album category at the 40th Golden Disc Awards for their 5th full album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY.' Starting with their 1st full album 'LOVE&LETTER' in 2017, they have won the main album award for 10 consecutive years, continuously maintaining their prime.
Unit group activities are also active. Seventeen's unit 'Meboze,' consisting of Dokyeom and Seungkwan, appeared on KBS2's 'Music Bank' and 'The Seasons - 10CM's Ssedam Ssedam' on January 16 to perform their new song "Blue." The song topped Bugs real-time charts on the day of release and ranked second on Korea's YouTube Music 'Real-time Trending Music,' gaining word-of-mouth popularity.
Additionally, S.Coups and Mingyu will hold the 'CxM [DOUBLE UP] LIVE PARTY' at Incheon Inspire Arena from January 23 to 25. The concert sold out on the day FC membership pre-sale opened, demonstrating their strong ticket power.
Seventeen is expanding its global fanbase through various activities and continues to enjoy sustained popularity alongside musical achievements.
