"Change Street" embarks on its second musical journey with Korean and Japanese second-generation artists. On January 17, episode 5 of the grand project commemorating the 60th anniversary of Korea-Japan diplomatic normalization, "Change Street" (directed by Oh Joon-sung), will air on ENA. "Change Street" is a new concept cultural exchange program where representative artists from Korea and Japan deeply connect through each other's streets, languages, and emotions, communicating through music.
In this broadcast, the Korean team—Lee Dong-hwi, Lee Sang-i, and Jung Ji-so—and the Japanese team—Crystal Kay, Koda Kumi, May J., and Takaya Kawasaki—will take the stage for their second busking performance. The three Korean actors, facing busking for the first time in their lives, immerse themselves in practice, revealing their nervousness. The moments of excitement and trembling as they meet audiences on unfamiliar Japanese streets, rather than in front of familiar cameras, will be captured.
Lee Dong-hwi, born in 1985, ended a nine-year relationship with Jung Ho-yeon in November 2024. He performs a duet of Delispice's classic song "Confession," well-known as the OST of the movie "Classic," with Jung Ji-so, born in 1999. Their calm harmony and sincere voices are expected to leave a gentle thrill on the street and stir viewers' emotions. Additionally, the identity of the "secret guest" who makes a surprise appearance during Jung Ji-so's street song stage adds to the audience's curiosity.
The Japanese team takes the microphone in a special relay busking format. Their stage, connecting each artist's unique style through song to create a seamless flow, highlights the distinct identity of "Change Street." "R&B diva" Crystal Kay delivers a rendition of "Maple," a signature song by Japan's national rock band Spitz, with her deep, distinctive vocals. The performance draws admiration both on-site and in the studio. Observing this, Manager Matsuda praises it highly, saying, "It's like a Crystal Kay song."
Crystal Kay expresses her special affection for Korea, saying, "My mother is Korean, so I always feel connected to Korea." It is said that her mother also appeared at the busking site to watch her daughter's performance.
"J-POP queen" Koda Kumi candidly shares her thoughts on this new challenge, saying, "This is my first busking in 25 years of music career." Through her performance of "TSUNAMI" by the national rock band Southern All Stars, she proves her unwavering class as a "Uta Hime" even on the street. Watching this, MC Yunho of TVXQ exclaims, "A legend is a legend."
KENJI03, Koda Kumi's husband and a member of the Japanese team's first busking, appears as a special guest in the studio, capturing attention. Especially before his wife Koda Kumi's performance, KENJI03 moves forward carrying a chair to watch from the front row, showing his extraordinary affection for his wife even offstage, adding another point of interest.
The global music entertainment program "Change Street" is co-produced by Forest Media Co., Ltd., Hangang Fore ENM Co., Ltd., and ENA, and airs every Saturday at 9:30 PM on ENA. Each episode's uniquely arranged classic songs, performed with a full band and voices of Korean and Japanese artists, can be enjoyed in a new way. The music from "Change Street" is released every Saturday at noon on major music platforms. Full versions of the busking videos are available on the official "Change Street" YouTube channel.
