Lim Young Woong, Gocheok Dome heated up by the 'I'm Hero' concert... 3 hours of passionate singing

Singer Lim Young Woong successfully concluded the first performance of the '2026 National Tour Concert I'm Hero' on January 16 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro-gu, Seoul. This concert marked Lim Young Woong's return to Gocheok Dome after about a year since the 'Lim Young Woong Recital' held early last year, captivating the audience with a refreshing tone and powerful vocals.

The first impression of the concert was defined by production that eliminated any sense of distance. Considering the vast space of Gocheok Dome, a 180-degree semicircular wide screen and vertical screens were placed at the front so that the audience would not miss Lim Young Woong's expressions and movements. This effort to minimize blind spots enhanced the completeness of the stage. For three hours, Lim Young Woong demonstrated unwavering skill with resounding vocals and overflowing energy.

The concert began with 'Wonderful Life.' Lim Young Woong appeared on the central stage with a powerful jump, and the crowd responded with cheers to the shout, "Hero Era, shout out!" From the first song, the powerful vocals filled Gocheok Dome, and the colorful laser baton choreography caught everyone's attention. In the following 'I Am a Hero,' the mood shifted with a country-style sound, naturally leading to group singing.

On the 'London Boy' stage, iconic elements of London were cleverly presented, and Lim Young Woong's refreshing vocals changed the atmosphere of the venue. Lim Young Woong opened the concert with the first remark, "This is Lim Young Woong. Nice to meet you," turning the venue into a frenzy. He shared his nervous feelings before the concert and communicated with fans.

During the concert, Lim Young Woong also showed care for the audience's health. He said, "There are people who should be scolded. Raise your hand if you haven't had a health checkup," eliciting reactions from the audience. Referring to the slope of the 3rd and 4th floors of the venue, he urged, "Please do not stand up and watch safely," demonstrating his responsibility as a singer.

True to his reputation for hit songs, emotional stages followed. 'Love Letter' created a romantic mood with soft tones and jazzy rhythms, and 'Our Blues' completed a sensory stage with saxophone performance under the mirror ball. 'Trust Only Me Now' was newly arranged in a jazz version, delivering a different emotion from the original.

Lim Young Woong humorously introduced the production points of this concert, saying, "Gocheok is so wide that the sound seems to be heard quietly." The sets matching each song also provided visual enjoyment for the audience. In 'I Will Be a Wildflower,' he sang beside a wildflower set, creating a warm atmosphere, and his self-composed song 'Because It Rains' conveyed a calm sentiment.

Following 'Sent a Reply,' during 'Rainbow,' the audience swayed together, sharing excitement. When the chorus "Do you want to leave?" came out, the audience became one choir. In 'Eolssigu,' a stage combining sophisticated melody and stylish choreography unfolded, and the audience responded with applause and cheers.

Lim Young Woong showcased not only singing but also acting. In the bridge video, transformed into 'Doctor Hero,' Lim Young Woong presented a mini-drama set in an emergency room. Actors Lee Ji-hoon, Jung Yi-rang, and Hyun Bong-sik appeared, adding laughter, and the scene where he showed soccer tricks to a pediatric patient drew cheers from the audience.

The latter part deepened the emotional depth. Dressed in white, Lim Young Woong appeared and sang 'Like the Moment is Eternal,' displaying fans' photos on the front wide screen. In 'More Beautiful Than Heaven,' he started with guitar playing and sang while swinging against the backdrop of a crescent moon, completing a romantic scene. 'Don't Look Back' soaked the audience with traditional trot emotions, and 'Father' added deep feelings, making the atmosphere solemn.

'The Story of a 60s Elderly Couple' reached the peak of the concert with emotional vocals. The following 'Hero Singing Contest' became one of the highlights of the concert. Starting with fans singing 'Stop in the Wind,' an impromptu stage unfolded. Lim Young Woong heated up the atmosphere by consecutively singing 'One Day Suddenly' and 'Journey to Me.' Especially during 'Journey to Me,' he recreated a Gmarket commercial, bringing laughter to the audience.

The latter part of the concert returned to a festive mood. Group singing erupted with 'Goodbye to Us,' creating a moment where Lim Young Woong and the audience became one. After raising the mood with 'I Love You' and 'Nest,' the encore followed. 'Melody for You' was enjoyed as a group song created with the audience. The following 'Home' featured a sensory production reminiscent of an EDM festival.

In the final song 'Hero,' the entire audience united to conclude the concert. Lim Young Woong comforted the audience by singing four more songs: 'My Love Like Starlight,' 'I Understand, I'm Sorry,' 'You and Me,' and 'Life Anthem.' At the end of the concert, he said, "I exist because of my fans," and urged, "Always be healthy and happy."

The '2026 National Tour Concert I'm Hero' Seoul performance will continue until January 18, expected to engage with a total of 54,000 spectators.
