Kyungdo and Seo Ji-woo release OST "Waiting for Kyungdo" with a heartfelt love song

The OST album for JTBC's weekend drama "Waiting for Kyungdo" was released at noon on the 18th through various online music platforms. This album includes all 10 vocal tracks and 52 score pieces featured in the drama, meticulously capturing the narrative and emotions of the story through music.

"Waiting for Kyungdo" is a romance drama about Lee Kyungdo (Park Seojoon) and Seo Jiwoo (Won Ji-an), who reunite as a journalist who reported on an affair scandal and the wife of the scandal's subject after both have experienced two breakups, continuing their love once again. The OST album emotionally captures the beginning and end of their relationship, unspoken feelings, and traces of the past, expanding these through music.

Music director Jung Serin of the Korean film music composer group Movie Closer oversaw all the tracks. Director Jung musically elaborated on the lyrical atmosphere and the characters' inner worlds, focusing on their choices, silences, and the emotional spaces between dramatic events, eliciting deep empathy.

The 52 score tracks finely reflect the textures of specific scenes and emotions. Centered on the main motif melody, the music expresses the fresh loveliness and youthful energy of people in their twenties. Several reunion scenes are portrayed a cappella, conveying quiet yet subtly trembling emotions. The farewell scene of painful consideration uses a restrained melody that quietly adheres to the characters' psychology without overly emphasizing emotion, enhancing immersion. Love in the thirties is filled with longing, tenderness, and the realization of each other's value after parting. These moments convey the characters' choices and feelings solely through music, without dialogue.

The 10 vocal tracks feature artists from various genres and tones. Sung Si-kyung composed and produced the refined ballad "On Some Day, With Some Heart," expressing Kyungdo's emotional line in the drama. Lee Seung-hyub (J.DON)'s "Last Spring" recalls the memories of first love with dramatic band sounds and the ticking of a clock and heartbeat. Navy Quokka's "By My Side" is characterized by light piano rhythms and soft vocals. Kim Daniel (wave to earth)'s "Love Doesn't Arrive on Time" portrays love across mismatched times with lyrical piano and strings.

Heize's "Tool Tool" delivers a simple message of comfort with minimal R&B sounds. EJel's "Every Day Like This" calmly depicts a drifting heart with dreamy melodies and vocals. Kwon Jin-ah's "My Universe" uses warm folk rock sensibility to compare a loved one to the universe. Lim Yoon-sung's "Don't Step on My Heart" powerfully expresses breakup emotions with rough band sounds and straightforward vocals.

The duet "Rachel" by Jehwui and Minseo, which captivated viewers until the final broadcast, layers unspoken emotions over gentle piano and acoustic guitar. "Cafe Latte (English Ver.)," created by Lee Chan-hyuk (AKMU) and Seo Dong-hwan with lyrics and vocals by YOASOBI's vocalist Lira, simply captures the emotions of a day.

This OST album records unspoken hearts, irretrievable time, and the emotions of relationships that ultimately continue through music. It allows the lingering feelings left by the drama to remain through music for a long time.

The "Waiting for Kyungdo" OST album is available for listening on various online music platforms from noon on the 18th.
