Monsta X Juheon concludes solo activities on 'Inkigayo'... A spectacular return after 2 years and 8 months


Jooheon, a member of the group Monsta X, successfully concluded his promotions for his second mini-album. Jooheon wrapped up activities for the title track "STING (Feat. Muhammad Ali)" from the mini-album "光 (INSANITY)" with the broadcast of SBS's "Inkigayo" on January 18. This promotion period was remembered as a special week for both Jooheon and his fans.

With the mini-album "光 (INSANITY)," Jooheon made his solo comeback after 2 years and 8 months since his discharge, proving an expanded musical worldview and solid artistry. He participated in writing, composing, and producing all the tracks, showcasing his versatility as an all-round artist. On stage, Jooheon left his unique mark, solidifying his distinctive position as a solo artist.

His agency, Starship Entertainment, shared Jooheon's thoughts. Jooheon said, "It was truly exciting and a pleasant time to be able to present new music through the second mini-album promotions." He added, "I especially tried to put 'passion' into this album, and I feel my sincerity was well conveyed to MONBEBE, which makes it meaningful and happy." Regarding the music show activities prepared for fans, he said, "I hope it was like a surprise gift for MONBEBE, my most precious light," and added, "Every moment was touching thanks to MONBEBE's cheering, which gave me strength to keep going."

The mini-album "光 (INSANITY)" expands the worldview of the first album "LIGHTS," conveying the message "Only when you go crazy, you truly shine." The title track "STING" adds musical weight with Jooheon's intense rapping combined with voice sampling of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali's quotes. On the "STING" stage, Jooheon completed a charismatic performance with diverse styling ranging from formal suits to casual outfits. His performance utilized boxing techniques like "weaving" and "swaying," delivering explosive energy.

Interest in Jooheon's solo comeback was intense. The pre-release track "Push (Feat. Rei of IVE)" challenge attracted attention with participation from Monsta X members, Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson, and American singer-songwriter Kehlani. Additionally, many artists such as Apink's Park Chorong and Yoon Bomi, Seventeen's Doyoung, WJSN's Dayoung, and ATEEZ's Yunho joined the "STING" challenge, generating a strong response.

Significant achievements were also made on global charts. After release, the new album entered the iTunes K-pop Top Albums chart in 11 countries and regions at its peak and the Top Albums chart in 15 countries and regions. The title track "STING" appeared on the iTunes K-pop Top Songs chart in 8 countries and regions and the Top Songs chart in 7 countries and regions. Notably, all tracks entered the K-pop Top Songs chart on the U.S. iTunes chart, marking remarkable results in a total of 24 countries and regions.

After successfully completing his solo activities, Jooheon will hold the 2026 Monsta X World Tour "The X : NEXUS" as a full group from January 30 to February 1 at the KSPO DOME in Seoul. This world tour will serve as an important opportunity to continue meeting with fans.
