Jun Hyun-moo, feeling "like a grandfather" in conversation with Lee Chan-won on 'Labubu'

Broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo sparked controversy by questioning the age of trot singer Lee Chan-won. A scene revealing the generational gap between the two aired on the JTBC variety show "Talk Pioneer 25" broadcast on January 19. The episode was conducted in the format of a virtual trip introducing the unique urban structure and attractions of Chongqing, China.

At the beginning of the broadcast, Jeon Hyun-moo mentioned the pedestrian iron bridge installed in Guo Xinglu Square in Chongqing, joking, "This is not a station area but a station-inside area." Then, upon spotting the popular character doll Labubu at a street shop, he remarked, "Labubu again," referring to its recent popularity. However, when Lee Chan-won asked, "What is Labubu?" the atmosphere became tense. Jeon Hyun-moo emphasized that Lee Chan-won was talking to someone 19 years younger and said, "It feels like I'm talking to my grandfather right now."

Yang Se-chan pointed to the doll on screen and explained Labubu. He mentioned that famous stars like Black Pink carry Labubu keyrings, but Lee Chan-won responded, "It looks like Pororo, Tubi, Nana, or Po," recalling the Teletubbies. Lee Chan-won's reaction made the cast laugh.

With Ha Do-kwon appearing as a guest, Yang Se-chan asked him about Labubu. Ha Do-kwon replied, "I know it. I bought one," and gave an accurate explanation of the Labubu doll. He said, "It's a doll you hang on your bag," surprising everyone. Jeon Hyun-moo joked, "Those of us born in '77 are quick with this. We're trot men," and Ha Do-kwon agreed, saying, "You have to keep up with these things," continuing the conversation.

The broadcast then returned to the virtual trip in Chongqing. The view from the 250-meter-high Raffles City observatory, with a transparent glass floor revealing the scenery below, was shown. When a sky swing crossing outside the building at 70 meters per second appeared, Lee Chan-won, who has acrophobia, expressed fear, saying, "Don't do it." The cast shared the tension as they watched the situation.

This episode brought laughter to viewers by highlighting cultural differences between generations. The conversation between Jeon Hyun-moo and Lee Chan-won showed the generational gap, while Ha Do-kwon's reactions added unexpected humor. The broadcast ended by introducing various attractions in Chongqing.
