Seventeen's DK and Seungkwan showed off their 10-year friendship vibe by candidly opening up about the "military-like discipline" episodes from their intense trainee days.
On the 22nd, Seventeen member DK appeared as the fourth guest on the YouTube channel '117's content "Boo Seungkwan's Bibaboo," engaging in an honest and straightforward talk with Seungkwan. On this day, the two attracted attention by recalling their first meeting during their tension-filled trainee days, which contrasts sharply with their current close friendship.
The most talked-about topic was the so-called "clock-watching battle." DK started by saying, "About a week after I joined as a trainee, I wasn't living in the dorms, so I had to go home when it turned 11 PM." However, to the existing trainees who lived in the dorms and were under strict discipline, this was not viewed favorably.
DK brought laughter by revealing, "At that time, Seungkwan said to me, 'Hyung, are you leaving already?' and I still can't forget that wicked expression." In response, Seungkwan explained, "At the time, as a senior among the youngest members, I had the role of educating the newcomers," and conveyed the cutthroat atmosphere of the time, adding, "It was a time when leaving work early under the pretext of going home didn't look good."
The "Gum Incident" involving leader S.Coups was also revealed. DK confessed, "When I first entered the practice room, I didn't know anything and went in chewing gum. I was riding the rhythm adding some hip-hop ad-libs, but S.Coups hyung said scarily, 'What are you doing not spitting out that gum?' so I spit it out immediately." He added, "At that time, I felt 'Wow, this is the world of trainees,' and was really scared."
Also, the misunderstanding regarding DK's intense first impression was cleared up. Seungkwan revealed that when DK first arrived, he misunderstood him as having a delinquent image because he was wearing "leopard print baggy pants" and a "red backpack." To this, DK appealed his grievance after 10 years, making the set burst into laughter by saying, "I didn't wear them because I wanted to; they were clothes my mom packed for me. She told me to wear them as practice clothes, so I had no choice."
