JYP’s boy group NEXZ chose a comfortable "Dad Vibe (Ajae vibe)" over forced coolness, bringing big laughs to their fans.
On the 22nd, a video titled "2026 NEXZ's Chugumi (Ideal Style) STYLE #2" was uploaded to NEXZ's official YouTube channel. In the video, the members played a psychological game of deception, and the losing team had to film a "Swag"-filled short-form video as a penalty.
However, their plan to film a "hip" video hit a snag right from the start. Faced with a situation where they had to rap to a hip-hop beat, the members awkwardly filled the air by spitting out endless beatboxing instead of lyrics.
In the end, the members quickly declared they were "giving up on hip-hop," saying, "We call it swag, but we're not rapping, just beatboxing," "This is somehow different from us," and "We will drop this (swag) from our 2026 Ideal Style."
The members realized that a natural appearance is better than a forced, decorated one. They coolly shifted their stance, remarking, "Rather than swag, the 'Ajae (Old Man/Dad)' style looks more comfortable," and "Being natural is the most beautiful."
NEXZ's decision to put down the flashy and cool concept and show their true selves, saying, "As expected, I have the most fun when I'm joking around," provoked delightful laughter from viewers.
Fans who watched the video reacted enthusiastically, commenting, "The speed at which they gave up swag is too fast," "Doing only beatboxing is the killing point," and "NEXZ is definitely most charming when they are natural."
