
MBC's popular program "Mystery TV SurfRIIZE" returns in a new format after a complete overhaul. After three months of preparation, "SurfRIIZE Mystery Salon" will premiere on Sunday the 25th at 10:40 AM. This program features a three-MC system, with Lee Chan-won serving as the main host.
Lee Chan-won is a figure who has made a mark not only in the music industry but also in entertainment. Known by the nickname "Chantowiki," he possesses an exceptional memory and the ability to introduce cases effectively. According to the production team, Lee Chan-won will naturally mention incidents not included in the script and lead the flow of the program.
Kwak Beom takes on the role of "Mystery Breaker," delivering tense and lively talks through a cheerful rivalry with Lee Chan-won. Kwak Beom plans to add fun to the program with his passionate acting. Announcer Park So-young contributes to the program with AI-level delivery skills and quick wit. The production team revealed that the unique true-story-based storytelling of "SurfRIIZE" has been further strengthened.
Existing actors Kim Min-jin, Kim Ha-young, Son Yoon-sang, and others also join as scene stealers. They plan to showcase exquisite acting to enhance immersion. In particular, Kim Ha-young's performance reportedly received high praise from the MCs.
In "SurfRIIZE Mystery Salon," Lee Chan-won transforms into "Mystery LEE" to explore mysteries from around the world. The first episode covers a strange metal ball reported over 8,000 times in the United States. This metal ball was investigated even by the U.S. Department of Defense, and a hypothesis that it is an object from outer space was proposed. In 2025, an incident in Colombia where a metal ball fell and was secured by researchers will also be introduced.
Kwak Beom challenges Lee Chan-won by pointing out flaws, and attention is focused on how Lee Chan-won will overcome them. Announcer Park So-young delivers stories of "lucky people who overcame misfortune," and Lee Chan-won and Kwak Beom are expected to captivate viewers with their acting skills. The two even suggest each other to switch careers to acting, adding to the program's entertainment.
In the "S File" corner, Lee Chan-won and Kwak Beom reconstruct two cases with repeatedly twisting stories. This segment covers the story of Satoru Tanaka, the husband involved in a wife murder case that remained unsolved for 26 years. He harbors secrets he wants to hide, and Lee Chan-won is expected to become enraged in uncovering the truth of the case.
"SurfRIIZE Mystery Salon" offers viewers the fun of digging into the truth and is set to heat up Sunday mornings. The program will meet viewers with a new look through its premiere on the 25th.
