Unit members Dokyeom and Seungkwan of the group Seventeen are achieving high popularity in Japan with their mini first album "Soya-gok." According to the Oricon chart released on January 22, "Soya-gok" sold nearly 100,000 copies immediately after its release, securing the number one spot on the Daily Album Ranking. Their success in the Japanese market was anticipated in advance.

"Soya-gok" also entered the top 10 on Oricon's Weekly Digital Album Ranking, which compiles digital music downloads. This ranking is based on the chart dated January 26, covering the period from January 12 to 18. The title track "Blue" also ranked high on Billboard Japan's Hot Shot Songs chart.

As a ballad genre album, "Soya-gok" unusually sold over 520,000 copies on the day of release, achieving half a million seller status. This result once again demonstrates Seventeen's musical prowess.

In China, "Soya-gok" is receiving positive responses as well. The album topped QQ Music's Digital Bestseller Album EP daily chart and also ranked first on the weekly chart. The tracking period was from January 9 to 15.

"Soya-gok" is an album that tells a story of emotional moments between meeting and parting. Centered on the theme of "ordinary love," this album conveys a message of empathy to many listeners.

Dokyeom and Seungkwan plan to release an LP (vinyl) version of "Soya-gok" with an analog sensibility on March 16. This is interpreted as an effort to strengthen communication with fans through analog media in addition to digital music.
