The Gangjin Celadon Festival organizers are reconsidering singer Hwang Young Woong's appearance. A festival official stated, "It is not confirmed that Hwang Young Woong's appearance has been canceled," adding, "We are currently reviewing the participation." Hwang Young Woong was scheduled to perform at the '54th Gangjin Celadon Festival - Sound of Celadon Concert' hosted by MBC on February 28.

Hwang Young Woong's agency, Golden Voice, conveyed through the official fan cafe on the 22nd, "Since this is the singer's first event, we ask for your strong support." Hwang Young Woong expressed through the fan cafe, "I was scared and afraid to appear in public, but I desperately wanted to sing and wanted to reflect on my past and strive to become a good member of society."

However, as news of Hwang Young Woong's appearance spread, complaints related to past school violence controversies were raised. Residents voiced opposition to Hwang Young Woong's participation, leading the festival organizers to reconsider the appearance.

In February 2023, Hwang Young Woong left the MBN program 'Burning Trotman' amid allegations of school violence. Subsequently, additional suspicions regarding false credentials and fabricated family background surfaced. Hwang Young Woong admitted and apologized for the school violence controversy but explained that the false family background was a misunderstanding and denied the false credentials allegations. Since then, he has suspended activities and been in self-reflection.

Reflecting concerns over residents' complaints, the Gangjin Celadon Festival organizers are carefully reviewing Hwang Young Woong's participation. As Hwang Young Woong's appearance is not confirmed, the festival is preparing an official announcement regarding the future decision.
