GS25 partners with PLAVE to launch three follow-up products including 'Gungomachyu'


GS25 announced on the 25th that it will release three follow-up products in collaboration with the virtual idol 'PLAVE' on the 29th. PLAVE is a virtual idol who debuted in March 2023 and has been launching various collaboration products through IP partnerships with GS25. The collaboration bread, which started on the 15th of this month, is expanding to snacks, transportation cards, and goods. The first released 'PLAVE bread 5 types' sold 550,000 units within ten days of release, gaining great popularity.

On the Our Neighborhood GS app, GS25's latest trend indicator, 'Dubai Chewy Choco Ball' ranked first in search terms for two consecutive months, but from the 15th, PLAVE took the top spot. According to data from the 16th to the 24th, when the PLAVE collaboration bread was fully stocked, sales of the five types of PLAVE collaboration bread exceeded three times the sales of Dubai Chewy Choco Ball.

As follow-up products, 'PLAVE Roasted Sweet Potato Chu (4,200 won)' will be released on the 28th, and 'PLAVE Cone Corn Roasted Corn (3,600 won)' and 'PLAVE ID Photo Set (9,700 won)' will be released on the 29th. 'PLAVE Roasted Sweet Potato Chu' includes one random seal out of 60 types of PLAVE seals, and 'PLAVE Cone Corn Roasted Corn' comes with a hexagonal paper case package featuring PLAVE images and a photo card. The 'PLAVE ID Photo Set' is a planned set including five chocolate snacks such as Vintz, Kancho, and Crunky, along with five ID photos of PLAVE members, designed to celebrate the upcoming Valentine's Day.

Meanwhile, fans have been visiting the eight PLAVE pop-up stores operating until the 31st of this month daily. On the opening day, the number of visitors to one pop-up store increased more than fivefold compared to the same day of the previous week, and limited edition goods such as diorama stands, acrylic stands, and can badges were all sold out within a day.

Manager Jo Seong-su of the Trend Product Differentiation Team at GS Retail said, "Starting with the PLAVE collaboration bread, GS25 is strengthening content collaboration by introducing various collaboration products such as snacks, transportation cards, and goods," and added, "We will continue to enhance customer satisfaction with differentiated products through various IP collaborations."
