Group Enhypen has once again entered the top ranks of the main U.S. Billboard chart, strengthening their status as a 'global top-tier group.' On the 25th (local time), the U.S. music media Billboard announced on its official website in a chart preview article that Enhypen's 7th mini album, The Sins: Banish, debuted at No. 2 on the latest Billboard 200 (dated January 31).
The Sins: Banish recorded 113,000 album sales, ranking No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart. Additionally, SEA units (sales converted from streaming counts) were counted at 9,000. Billboard explained, "The official streaming count of the album's tracks reached 9.51 million, setting a new team record." With this, Enhypen has placed six consecutive albums in the Billboard 200 Top 10. These albums include the 3rd mini album Manifesto: Day 1 (No. 6), the 4th mini album Dark Blood (No. 4), the 5th mini album Orange Blood (No. 4), the 2nd full-length album Romance: Untold (No. 2), and the 6th mini album Desire: Unleash (No. 3).
This chart entry marks Enhypen's ninth achievement. Enhypen recorded over 2.07 million sales in the first week of release with The Sins: Banish, producing the team's fourth double million-seller. This album also stood out on domestic and international album charts. It ranked No. 1 on the Hanteo Chart weekly album chart and topped the Japanese Line Music weekly Album Top 100 and Oricon Daily Album Ranking.
On the 25th, Enhypen successfully concluded their music broadcast activities for this album by performing the follow-up track "Big Girls Don't Cry" on SBS's Inkigayo. They showcased intense charisma and sharp choreography with the title track "Knife," and demonstrated wide-ranging concept adaptability by expressing witty and groovy contrasting charm with "Big Girls Don't Cry."
The Sins: Banish continues Enhypen's vampire series and is part of the "The Sins" series themed around sin. In addition to the title track "Knife," the album includes the alternative R&B track "No Way Back," featuring Soyoon of Se So Neon, the pop genre song "Big Girls Don't Cry," with lyrics co-written by Dynamic Duo's Gaeko, and member Jake's first self-composed song "Sleep Tight."
The original soundtrack (OST) for the Netflix animation K-Pop Demon Hunters dropped four spots from the previous week to No. 9. Through continuous achievements, Enhypen is further solidifying their position in the K-POP market. They plan to continue communicating with global fans through various musical attempts and activities in the future.
