15 SM Trainees Enroll in 'Friendship High'... 'Reply High School' Teaser Released

Mnet's new variety show "Reply High School" revealed the appearance of SM Entertainment's multinational male trainee team "SMTR25." On January 26, Mnet released the main teaser video of "Reply High School" through its official SNS. This video captured the attention of prospective viewers.

The teaser video features 15 trainees who enrolled in the fictional space "Woojeong High School." They are members of SMTR25: Hanbi, Songha, Daniel, Hyunjun, Hamin, Jaewon, Woorin, Nicholas, Katsho, Justin, Haruta, Sadaharu, Charlie, Kachin, and Tataro. They evoke laughter by showing awkwardness as they struggle to adapt to the variety show world.

In particular, the surprise support from senior SM artists draws attention. Kyuhyun of Super Junior expressed curiosity, saying, "Are you the SMTR who performed at SMTown?" Heechul was surprised by the age of the youngest member born in 2008, saying, "Our youngest (Kyuhyun) was born in 1988," showing astonishment at the 20-year age gap. Changmin asked about Daniel's exotic appearance and origin, and was taken aback by the unexpected answer, "Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu."

This teaser well showcased the freshness of the trainees unfamiliar with variety show filming. There were moments of turning their backs to the camera and "audio missing" situations with no conversation during filming. Member Hamin showed embarrassment at the silence of his peers, saying, "They really don't respond at all. Is this okay?" Additionally, through the quirky act of endlessly repeating the slate, it hinted at the charm of "raw trainees" rather than "perfectly set idols."

The 15 boys who came out of the practice room rush to the snack bar with a prize of 1 million won, and when asked, "Who is your favorite senior in the company?" they show a pupil-dilating reaction, revealing the process of finding their idol identity. At the end of the teaser video, PD Na Young-seok appears asking, "What did you learn here? What kind of school is this?" hinting at the program's witty direction.

The 15 members of SMTR25 have undergone different training periods ranging from at least 8 months to as long as 8 years. They are set to write a dreamlike story in the unfamiliar environment called "Woojeong High." This program is gathering expectations from the global fandom.

"Reply High School" will premiere on February 13 at 8:20 PM through Mnet and Mnet Plus.
