V of the group BTS is making headlines after revealing the movie-like behind-the-scenes story of his debut, where he tagged along with a friend to an audition only to pass alone.
Recently, a video featuring V was posted on "Diggle," the official YouTube channel of the tvN variety show "You Quiz on the Block." In the video, V caught attention by revealing how he became a trainee, stating, "I followed a friend to watch the audition and unexpectedly passed."
V recalled, "My dream was originally to be a celebrity," but explained the situation at the time of the audition, saying, "My friend said he was going to audition, so I followed him because I wanted to see people from Seoul." However, like a twist of fate, the friend who actually went to audition failed, while V, who was just a spectator, passed, creating a dramatic result.
In particular, on this day, V brought laughter by sharing the desperate yet quirky episodes of how he tried to show everything he could to pass. V confessed, "The judges asked if I could sing, so I sang. They asked if I could dance, so I danced," and added, "When they asked if I had anything else, I asked, 'I play the saxophone. It's at home, should I go get it?'" making the set burst into laughter.
V even added, "They asked if I had anything else there, so I even did beatboxing, which I'm not even good at," and said, "I wanted to show them that 'I have something.'" It is said that the judges eventually recognized V's passion and potential, thinking, "This kid will do something," and passed him.
