MC the Max's Lee Soo, 8.9 Billion Building Investment Hits 'Jackpot' in 4 Years... Soars to 7 Billion

Lee Soo, the vocalist of MC the Max (real name Jeon Gwang-cheol), saw the asset value of a building he purchased in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul in 2019 increase by approximately 7 billion KRW. In October 2019, Lee Soo bought the building, which has one basement floor and five above-ground floors, under his name for 8.94 billion KRW. The building, completed in 2017, is a newly constructed property located in a second-class general residential area. It is about an 8-minute walk from Gangnam-gu Office Station, offering good transportation accessibility.

Currently, some floors of the building are used by '325E&C,' an entertainment agency founded by Lee Soo, while the remaining floors house general offices, restaurants, and a Pilates studio. Kim Kyung-hyun, team leader at Building Road Real Estate Brokerage, explained, "Despite the distance from Gangnam-gu Office Station, there is anticipation for inclusion in the station area due to the planned Wirye-Sinsa Line's Hakdong Sageori Station nearby."

Real estate experts, based on transactions of older corner buildings nearby priced between 180 million KRW and 197 million KRW per pyeong, estimate Lee Soo's building at 170 million KRW per pyeong. Using this standard, the current value of the building is estimated at approximately 15.9 billion KRW. Accordingly, it is analyzed that a capital gain of about 7 billion KRW can be expected depending on the timing of sale.

Team leader Kim added, "Recent transactions show that prices in this area are forming at around 180 million KRW to 200 million KRW per pyeong. Reflecting this, the building is currently valued at about 15.9 billion KRW."

Lee Soo debuted in March 2000 as part of the group Moon Child and is active as the vocalist of MC the Max. Known for his outstanding high-pitched vocal ability, he is nicknamed the "Vocal of a Thousand Voices" and is regarded as one of the four great kings of the Korean music industry. In 2009, Lee Soo was investigated on charges of underage prostitution but received a suspended indictment. Due to this incident, he halted all activities and currently performs intermittently for his fandom.

Additionally, Lee Soo married singer Lyn in 2014 but announced their amicable divorce in August last year. Despite his personal circumstances, his business achievements are drawing attention.
