Se-ri Park: "Marriage rumors are AI fake news"... Expresses discomfort through SNS

Golf legend Park Se-ri expressed her displeasure over fake news about marriage rumors with actor Kim Seung-soo. On the 27th, Park Se-ri posted a video on her social media (SNS) sharing her feelings about the marriage rumors. She said, "Not only dating rumors but now marriage rumors are spreading? It's so absurd, sometimes funny... and also bitter..."

In the video, Park Se-ri was stunned by the sophistication of the fake news. She expressed her disbelief, saying, "It's fake, but they make it look so real... Who on earth makes this? Seriously?" She especially criticized the misuse of AI technology, saying, "AI isn't meant to be used like this... How can someone create something like this?" Park Se-ri also showed concern for actor Kim Seung-soo, saying, "He must be so embarrassed too."

Park Se-ri mentioned actual harm caused by the false information. She said, "Even when I greet people," and added, "Residents congratulate me... They keep asking, 'Is it true?'... Many of our fans were really shocked," sharing the bewildered reactions around her. She also laughed bitterly at the meticulous fake news that even fabricated a specific date, saying, "I even saw that it said we got married on a certain day in January 2026?"

She urged her fans, "Please don't believe it. Don't worry," and firmly declared her intention regarding public relationships, saying, "If I get a boyfriend, I'll be the first to announce it all over the news so everyone knows for sure." She added, "When I really date and get married, I'll tell you with real news, not fake news."

Finally, she left a message asking people to focus more on her main work of nurturing juniors rather than her personal issues. Park Se-ri concluded the video by emphasizing, "My dating life isn't that important," and said, "I would appreciate it if you could support us more in developing and discovering talents in Korea."

Meanwhile, since December last year, fake news videos claiming that Park Se-ri and Kim Seung-soo had an unofficial wedding in early January 2026 have been spreading online. These posts used AI voice synthesis and sophisticated image editing techniques to make it look like real news, deceiving the public with over 9 million views.

Park Se-ri's reaction highlights the impact fake news can have on an individual's private life. She emphasized that such false information causes confusion among people and even affects those around her. This incident serves as a reminder of how important it is to verify the authenticity of information.

Park Se-ri stated that she will share information about her private life only through official channels in the future. This shows that she feels a greater social responsibility beyond personal matters. She reaffirmed her commitment to nurturing juniors and made it clear that she will focus on bigger goals rather than personal issues.

This incident also raises awareness about the impact of AI technology development on personal privacy. Park Se-ri expressed concern about the problems that can arise when AI technology is misused. These issues are serious matters that can affect not only individual privacy but society as a whole.

Park Se-ri's response raises public awareness about fake news and reminds people how important it is to verify information. She stated that she will continue to disclose information about her private life through trustworthy channels. This attitude will serve as an important message to help the public avoid being misled by fake news.
