RM, the leader of the group BTS, is garnering attention after revealing the honest and humorous reason why he fell deeply into art.
In the past, an interview video titled "RM ‘All About Art’ | Samsung The Frame," featuring RM in partnership with Samsung Electronics, was posted on a YouTube channel. In the video, RM shared sincere stories about his views on art under the theme of "Art in Everyday Life."
Known as a representative "art lover" in the entertainment industry, RM drew attention by explaining the special meaning art holds for him and comparing it to his main profession, music. He honestly confessed his struggles as a musician, stating, "I get jealous sometimes when I listen to music," and "When I see great musicians, I think, 'I need to do that too,' or 'That seems better,' so there are times when it's hard to fully enjoy it."
However, art was different. RM said, "I don't get jealous at all when I look at art," and added the reason, "Because my drawing sucks," provoking laughter.
He explained, "Because I'm not a painter, I can be perfectly honest (without competitiveness)," adding, "That's why I feel perfect inner peace when appreciating art." This highlighted that while pleasantly acknowledging his own lack of skill, art serves as a source of true rest and healing for him.
Meanwhile, RM shows extraordinary affection for art by visiting museums at home and abroad despite his busy schedule and taking the lead in promoting Korean art.
