The movie "Number One" has released its countdown trailer. The film tells the story of Ha-min (played by Choi Woo-shik), who struggles to protect his mother Eun-sil's (played by Jang Hye-jin) life by watching the numbers decrease every time he eats her food. Ha-min discovers that when the number reaches zero, his mother will die.
The released countdown trailer captures the audience's attention through numbers counting down time in everyday life. The trailer begins with Eun-sil asking, "Have you eaten?" as her son comes in while watching TV. Ha-min casually dodges with, "I just went out to buy something," portraying a familiar evening scene. However, the narration, "One day, I started seeing numbers every time I ate the food my mother made," hints at a change in the ordinary daily life.
The moment Ha-min notices the numbers while eating and is surprised emphasizes the film's fantasy setting. This allows the audience to feel the passing of time and naturally become immersed. Afterwards, Ha-min understands the meaning of the numbers and begins to distance himself from his mother. The line, "If you see your parents a lot in a year, twice for Lunar New Year and Chuseok, even if you count long, 20 years means exactly 40 times," impresses upon viewers that the countdown is not just a simple concept but connected to our reality.
The trailer ends with the question, "Is your time infinite?" This question leaves a deep impression on the audience, prompting them to reflect once again on the time spent with their loved ones as the numbers decrease.
The movie "Number One" will be released nationwide in theaters on February 11. This work is expected to deliver a message that makes audiences reconsider the meaning of precious moments.
