Lizzy opens up about depression on Instagram Live... "Life is too hard"

Lee Ji, a broadcaster and former member of the group After School, recently expressed severe depression during a live broadcast on social media, raising concerns. On the 28th, Lee Ji conducted a live broadcast on her Instagram, revealing the hardships of a celebrity's life. She mentioned, "Being a celebrity is a job where everything is exposed," and said she would advise those who want to pursue public activities against becoming entertainers. She especially emphasized the difficulty of being a female idol, sharing the exhaustion and pressure hidden behind the glamorous appearance.

Lee Ji revealed her psychological pain, saying, "I don't regret doing this work itself, but I blame myself a lot for my actions." She said, "My depression was so severe that I was talking about life and death, and my TikTok account was suspended, so I came here." This statement reflects the serious depression Lee Ji is experiencing and shocked her fans.

During the broadcast, Lee Ji appealed, "People ask why I would die in this beautiful world, but living is too hard for me." She added, "What use is it that the world is good when I am struggling?" hinting at impulses toward extreme choices. These remarks caused great concern among fans and viewers.

The comment section was flooded with messages of worry and discouragement, and the atmosphere of the broadcast quickly became somber. However, toward the end of the broadcast, she comforted viewers by saying, "When you're struggling, you don't have to pretend you're not. I can only say thank you for enduring today." Lee Ji showed signs of emotional instability and responded to questions and malicious comments about her appearance and plastic surgery. She explained that she had to undergo reoperation due to a past medical accident and appeared anxious when she could not find her personal belongings.

The broadcast ended abruptly after a person who appeared to be an acquaintance of Lee Ji joined the conversation. Lee Ji debuted in 2010 with After School and was also loved as part of the unit Orange Caramel alongside Nana and Raina. However, after being fined for a drunk driving incident in 2021, she spent a long period in self-reflection. Recently, she announced the resumption of her activities by holding a solo fan meeting in Japan.

While drunk driving is recognized as a crime that requires social responsibility, voices are growing that hope Lee Ji takes care of herself with sufficient rest and professional help. Lee Ji's confession sheds light on the hidden side of a celebrity's life and serves as an opportunity to raise social awareness about mental health.
