
Lee Hong-gi, the vocalist of the band FT Island, revealed photos of himself dressed as a woman for his role as Josephine in the musical "Sugar." On the 29th, Lee Hong-gi posted several photos on his social media with the caption, "How is it?" The released photos show him with wavy hair, delicate makeup, and sparkling stage costumes. Fans cheered with comments such as "You look good dressed as a woman," "Looking forward to the stage," and "Only Lee Hong-gi can pull this off."
The musical "Sugar" is based on the classic comedy film "Some Like It Hot." Set during the Prohibition era of 1929, the story depicts two jazz musicians who witness a gang murder and disguise themselves as women to join an all-female band, leading to various comedic situations. Lee Hong-gi began the first performance of "Sugar" on the 16th of last month, and the show will run until February 22 at the KEPCO Art Center in Seoul.
Lee Hong-gi has proven his acting skills by portraying various characters in musicals such as "That Day," "I Loved You," "Return," "Jack the Ripper," "Mata Hari," "Harlan County," and "Your Lie in April."
On the 29th, FT Island signed a contract renewal with their agency, FNC Entertainment. FNC Entertainment stated, "We have signed the renewal contract based on the deep trust and confidence built over a long time with FT Island." They also said, "As the founding artist of FNC Entertainment and a band that led the Korean Wave, it is very meaningful to walk together again with FT Island," adding, "In 2026, the 20th anniversary of our establishment, we plan to form a dedicated team for FT Island, who have contributed to the company's growth and history, to systematically support their future activities."
Members of FT Island expressed their feelings about the contract renewal, saying, "We are happy to continue working with FNC Entertainment." With this, FT Island will continue their activities moving forward.
