Singer Kim Gun-mo will conclude his live tour in Seoul this coming March. The concert production company iStar Media Company announced on the 29th that Kim Gun-mo's "25-26 Kim Gun-mo Live Tour" Seoul performance will be held on March 21 at 5 p.m. at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium. This Seoul concert marks the final stage of Kim Gun-mo's comeback tour, which resumed after six years.
Starting in Busan last September, Kim Gun-mo's tour received enthusiastic support from audiences, with all seats sold out through the final performance in Incheon on December 31. Building on this momentum, the Seoul concert aims to once again showcase the true essence of "Kim Gun-mo, the singer on stage." Kim Gun-mo appeared nervous during the first performance of the tour and was moved to tears on stage. However, as the concerts continued, the audience's support became a great source of strength, allowing him to dominate the stage with his unique wit and stable live vocals.
Kim Gun-mo has deeply felt how much power the audience's hearts give him, expressing his profound gratitude by bowing deeply to the audience at every performance. Since the news of his comeback through concerts was announced, fans have been expecting more active engagements, and inquiries for broadcast appearances have continued. However, as of now, no official plans for activities outside of performances have been confirmed. Kim Gun-mo has stated that he will focus on "responding through singing on stage" for the time being.
Production company iStar Media Company said, "Kim Gun-mo feels both excitement and unfamiliarity as he returns to the stage after a long hiatus," adding, "He takes the stage with excitement and nervousness at every performance, and we are preparing to create a 'night in Seoul completed by song' together with the audience at this Seoul concert."
Tickets for the concert will be sold exclusively on Yes24 starting on the 29th. Kim Gun-mo is scheduled to perform in Changwon on February 7 and plans to once again convey his sincerity to the audience through the Seoul concert.
In August 2016, Kim Gun-mo became embroiled in controversy over allegations of sexual assault at a nightclub in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. In December 2019, a woman identified as A appeared on a YouTube channel making these claims and filed a lawsuit against Kim Gun-mo. At the time, Kim Gun-mo had just announced his marriage to pianist and composer Jang Ji-yeon, who is 13 years his junior, which caused a significant stir. Kim Gun-mo strongly denied the allegations, stating, "I do not know who A is," and in 2021, the prosecution dismissed the case with a "no charges" decision. Although cleared of sexual assault charges, Kim Gun-mo went on hiatus due to the controversy. He withdrew from the SBS variety show "My Ugly Duckling" and canceled his 25th-anniversary debut concert.
Kim Gun-mo legally married Jang Ji-yeon in 2019 through a marriage registration but was unable to hold a wedding ceremony due to ongoing lawsuits and the impact of COVID-19. They divorced in 2022, two years and eight months after registering their marriage.
Currently, Kim Gun-mo is focusing on his performances and emphasizing communication with the audience. He is reported to have expressed his desire to "continue responding through singing." This Seoul concert will be an important stage commemorating Kim Gun-mo's return.
