Broadcaster Ham So-won revealed that she is making efforts to reconcile with her ex-husband Jin Hua. On the MBN show "Sokpuri Show - Dongchimi," airing on the 31st, Ham So-won will discuss the topic "Is reconciliation harder than divorce?" The episode will feature actress Kim Ji-yeon, Kim Hyun-sook, comedian Lee Hong-ryul, singers No Sa-yeon and No Sa-bong sisters, and pop columnist Kim Tae-hoon.
Ham So-won said, "Since it's a marital issue, people around me are cautious about what they say, but after the last 'Dongchimi' broadcast, everyone is curious about the situation." She added, "Because 'living together' after divorce is not realistic, some people ask, 'Are you really living together?' I wanted to share my concerns."
Ham So-won and Jin Hua are living under the same roof for the sake of their daughter Hye-jung and have revealed their true feelings for the first time since their divorce. Ham So-won married Jin Hua, a Chinese man 18 years her junior, in 2017 and had a daughter. Rumors of divorce persisted, and it was only in 2024 that they confirmed their divorce in December 2022. However, they have continued cohabitation and joint parenting, suggesting the possibility of reconciliation.
Ham So-won explained, "I am currently making efforts to reconcile with my ex-husband Jin Hua. We have set rules meaning 'let's not do things we dislike to each other' and live by them." She continued, "There are many issues we need to resolve together." She also mentioned the changed situation, saying, "After the broadcast, I thought that if we put in some effort, we might be able to reconcile. We used to fight every time we met, so I had no intention of reconciling, but after living together, I started thinking, 'Maybe we should try a little harder.'"
Ham So-won said, "At the time of the divorce, I had decided never to see him again, but because of the child, we kept meeting. Through that process, I saw his changed side, and the accumulated resentment eased, so I think we have gotten a bit closer. We talk a lot, but we will decide on reconciliation more carefully."
Ham So-won will also reveal her changed daily life with Jin Hua on the show. She added, "Since we set rules, I hold back from yelling. If we break the rules, we have to pay a fine, so even when I want to get angry, I end up laughing."
While a reconciliation mood is sensed between Ham So-won and Jin Hua, Jin Hua's mother expressed a negative stance on the matter. In the preview video of MBN's variety show "Sokpuri Show Dongchimi," when Ham So-won asked Jin Hua, "Are you going to do the dishes?" he replied, "Since you cooked, I will do the dishes." Ham So-won smiled and said, "Thank you. You've really changed a lot." Jin Hua added, "We are both changing and making efforts."
However, Jin Hua's mother was unaware that he was staying at Ham So-won's house and criticized, "Why do you keep staying there? What is that about? If you broke up, shouldn't you live separately?" She asked, "Are you going to reconcile?" Jin Hua answered, "It's not about reconciling. I come to see the child, eat together, and play." Jin Hua's mother said, "You shouldn't block each other's future," expressing a desire for a fresh start rather than reconciliation. Jin Hua responded, "This is our matter; it's not something for you to worry about, Mom."
In the studio, reactions included, "From a mother's perspective, that's understandable," and "It seemed good, but I think the reconciliation will hit a brake." Ham So-won and Jin Hua married in 2017 and have one daughter. They appeared on TV CHOSUN's "Taste of Wife" but left amid lying controversies. The couple announced their divorce in 2022 and recently revealed that they are living together.
The broadcast will air at 11 PM on the 31st.
